Visiting Melbourne from The States and we had a wonderful family meal here! The staff was friendly, quick and helpful. The food was tasty and all came out very quickly. When we asked the host for suggestions of other places to visit in the city, he gave helpful advice and went above and beyond! I accidentally forgot my purse when we left and came back 10 minutes later, they had it safely tucked behind the bar waiting for me. I would absolutely come back here and will recommend to others!!!!
35/PP In the Royal Arcade, there is indeed a secret real Indian restaurant. Before my visit, I asked an Indian buddy for his thoughts, and he told you will not be disappointed. It is, in fact! The staff was attentive and kind. Definitely return to try more dishes. - [Butter Chicken] Immersing the tender pieces of chicken, which have been marinated overnight, in a silky tomato sauce with fresh garlic and blanched tomatoes is heavenly amazing. - [Tandoori Combo] The meats were cooked well, with pleasing heat levels that matched the season. The lamb chops and chicken tikka were well complemented by the yoghurt sauce with hints of herbs. Coupled with truly fluffy, chewy garlic naan, just delicious.
Loved this place!!!! Really good food and not too expensive!!! Also the person serving us was really thoughtful. He was really thorough in asking questions about how we wanted the spice level to be, what we felt like eating, if we wanted the Entrees before our mains, suggested a couple of things in the menu, etc. : Highly recommend the lamb chops and buttered chicken!!!
Photo: vegetable samosas. Super busy restaurant. Food is good, they mostly serve curry. I guess it's better to book a table, because they're very busy and you might not get a table if you just walk in. We waited for our food for over 1 hour, but staff is super attentive and kind. Food is tasty, a little bit expensive and small portions but I can tell they serve good quality food. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant Vegetarian options: Thye have vegetarian curry options
If you are in CBD and want some authentic Indian food experience I would highly recommend this restaurant. Super amazing food, great ambience, friendly staff especially the owner, honestly what a man. We went to dine with couple of my friends and totally loved it. He also gave my friends some complimentary drinks. 5 . Insight: try beef saag & butter chicken. Loved it. Chef nailed it.
Love this place. My go to Indian restaurant when visiting Melbourne. Superb food and excellent friendly service. We walked in on busy night but they found us a table, service was great and food was prompt and delicious. I'll be going back!Recommended dishes
Really delicious samosas, curry and cheesy garlic naan. The service was also fast and friendly. Will recommend to friends and family and definitely come back here again. Thank you so much!
Gourmet curry hut feels like home, the service is amazing, they believe in the quality over the quantity. And it shows! They’ve been around for 22 years, the kitchen is a beautiful place full of incredible smells, we had the Dahl and the Lamb Madras both hot but not overpowering. The Masala complimented the meal perfectly. You can tell the food is made with love, and after a conversation with the owners Satwant and his son, Luvjit were working today we know it is. Satwant has catered for Bruce Springsteen and had a good stall in the Queen Victoria Wednesday night markets. Overall amazing little window to another world in Hun Arcade on Little Collins street. Undeniably perfect experience. Will hope to come back regularly.
Amazing food! Best Indian I have ever had! I genuinely can't understand why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars. Had tandoori chicken, lamb chops, butter chicken and beef rogan Josh with garlic naan and plain rice. Couldn't recommend more!
I’ve tried Indian food for first time ever as I don’t like too much spices or curry in this small and hidden restaurant and I really like it. Everything was delicious and yummy. I couldn’t take any photos as I was super hungry. Not suitable for date or having fancy foods. It’s kind of having delicious street foods in small restaurant. Also, their table are a bit small as we couldn’t fit our food on table. I will definitely return if I want to have Indian foods. Thank you
