Story

Established in 1980 , currently the oldest vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne. Started by renowned internationally vegetarian master chef extraordinaire Kurma Das. It has been owned and operated by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) or commonly known as The Hare Krishna's for the past 31 years.

Good vegetarian food worth every penny you spend. Tucked away in the heart of the city is this delightful place to be ...up a set of stairs... and you reach a desirable fulfilling vegetarian cuisine. Clean Ambience where family, work mates or individuals can explore and not heavey on the pocket.

Delicious vegetarian and vegan food at amazing prices.  Nothing fancy but friendly staff and a variety of à la carte or meal options. The vegetable dishes were flavorful, and the salads were fresh.  The line varied between 3-4 people to 12, but service is fast.  Cards and cash accepted.

Great healthy fresh food which happens to be vegan. Cool, friendly atmosphere. Great value!!!

Just outstanding vegetarian and vegan food. We loved the amazing flavors and taste sensations of all dishes tried. Excellent value for money, rotated menus and caring friendly staff that added to the experience. Will definatly visit again. Recommended vegetarian restaurant that will not disappoint.

Any foodies delight, whether you are a vegan or not. The place has a very serene vibe to it with a warm, inviting ambience and a welcoming staff. The food itself is very clean, but full of subtle flavours and lipsmackingly delish. A definite must go-to for all foodies!!!

A place to read sit and chill. Vegan food, so expect it to be a bit bland but overall I liked the ambience.

Consistently good cheap veggie meals. I have been eating lunch there monthly for over 30 years
