I'm going to start by talking about the cutlery and that's before we've even started to eat. I was really impressed with the quality of the cutlery. You may say that's just knives and forks but I've got to tell you the design if you look at the photos was quite different. They're really well weighted and the handles just fit snugly into your hand. Anyone who's been in a restaurant where the knife doesn't cut which is enough to drive you crazy or where it just doesn't balance and slips off but it looks good but slips off all the time will be really pleased with the cutlery here which sounds simple but frankly I just wish more places understood that you have to eat.nNow let's move on to the food which was quite amazing. We had a dish of polenta chips which was enough for four. It's as simple as that. The truffle mayo was really good. None of this heavy-handed use of the truffle oil. Really nice and tasty.nNext we moved on we had a margarita pizza which you could see some of because we tucked into it really quickly. It was fabulous. Now it didn't have any basil on it because my grandson doesn't like green on his food but nonetheless it was really good.nThen we had the gourmet mushrooms pizza which was fabulous and I strongly recommend it. It was that good.nThen we had a seafood pasta. I can't remember which one it was. I suspect you'll find that they're all really good so just order any of these seafood pastas.nI had the veal saltimbucca which was large. I will say that if you go there as a couple you might get away with ordering one main between the two of you. In fact you could quite easily get away with ordering one main for the two of you. It was really good. I'd have to recommend it and I'd be tempted to have it the next time around. We didn't have the cannoli because you could share it. I did take a photo of it because I was blown away. They would have been even better if they were freshly piped which is something you don't get very often and I suppose in a restaurant it's hard but gee.nI guess overall I'd say that the serves were what I would call generous. I believe that's probably what's termed an understatement. That said, the service was very affable and friendly. Very good but I will admit it was a bit disorganized. We were given the opportunity to have a pizza and the lass said it was a focaccia but then she figured it out and another time they offered us a second mushroom pizza not realising we'd already had ours which would have been nice to have but let's face it probably more than we needed to eat.nOverall a really good experience. At a basic level we just have to go back. It really is good enough to justify a return bout and try some of the other things on the menu. It is helped in one way I guess by the added bonus it's not as bustling as some parts of the town centre when it's a busy day over the new year period.
Nice place for dinner in the center of torquay right near bus stops, ice cream and of course the beach. Food and drinks were averagely priced. Perfect for a catch up with friends or a date. Great vegetarian options. would recommend the gnocchi bar items
It was a legit Italian restaurant in Torquay. Nice place and vibes. If you love Italian food this is the place. Good value for money
Despite waiting about 45 minutes for our meal, the main - a chicken dish - had not been freshly cooked. It was clearly reheated, and was dry and chewy. The potatoes also had yesterday’s taste and texture.nHowever I want to highlight how well the wait staff handled the situation. They were charming, polite, very understanding and after conferring with the back of house staff, the dish was removed from the bill without issue.nHopefully the food quality improves, as the team clearly cares about the customer experience.
We tried the King Prawns Gourmet and Lamb Gourmet pizzas, and both were outstanding. The prawn pizza was fresh and vibrant, with garlic-infused prawns, creamy mozzarella, and a refreshing touch of mint. The lamb pizza was rich and satisfying, with tender marinated lamb, caramelised onions, and the tang of goat cheese. We finished with a classic tiramisu, light and perfectly balanced. Delicious food, great flavours, highly recommended.
