Easily some of the best cinemas I’ve ever been into, lovely layout in them and so so so clean. The service staff made it known that they were doing me a HUGE favor by serving me which was kind of them. Not a complaint but the lack of movie posters in the cinema concourse was a little odd and something I missed. I have worked in the cinema industry and am a frequent visitor to cinemas all around Australia and while this is one of the nicest multiplexes I’ve been to the staff really let it down.
Great place to catch the latest movies. I love booking the HOYTS LUX tickets, as it gives me a unique overall experience away from the crowd and queues. The cinema comes with its own lounge and a gourmet menu for food & drinks. You can order at the bar before heading to the cinema, and they will deliver it to your seats. The recliner seats have easy-to-use controls and an attached wooden table to enjoy snacks and beverages. They provide complimentary popcorn & water. Definitely worth the price.
Took a while to find the cinema....keep going up the elevators....however the trip up was great the way the museum within reaches up to the glass roof is amazing, as is the clock that opens every hour and I've always been a big fan of R.M.Williams....still wearing the boots I bought in Sydney 20 + years ago
Good movie, clean theatre, but what made my night was this chick at the concessions stand who was gorgeous. Not only did her sparkling smile make me feel so warm inside but she was incredibly helpful even though her cute round glasses fogged up while serving me. She definitely made my day.
Nice cinema, with comfy seats, nice food and friendly staff. There is though very limited number of movies shown.
terrible service!!! Ask for help regarding earning/ using Qantas points and the person in charge of the tickets said: “actually I don’t have any idea of how to do it “ and stayed quiet. No one helped… so it would be great if you trained your staff. To continue the already annoying experience, when I picked up my popcorn order was literally halfway filled and when we asked to get it properly filled the guy in charge said are you a member? I don't think I need to be a member to get my order properly completed. Really! You should train your staff...
It’s a bit hit and miss, saw a movie the other day in the xtreme cinema and the seats are reasonable and relatively clean. Today went to see another movie but was in the regular cinema 5, and it smells of stale sweat, and grotty and dated. Might have to try the lux next to see if that’s any better but expectations are low. Cinema is going to fail to home streaming if this is the ‘experience’ they are offering now.
Sorry, but if you are intending to visit lux alternative for a movie.. sincerely, save your cash and go to village instead... Food was cold, uncooked and horrible. The food that my partner and I purchased arrived 15 minutes before the movie was to end when I selected them to arrive at the beginning. Cocktails arrived at the end of the movie also. Called for assistance/service with the button and no one ever came over. Stopped a service person and enquired about food/drinks and they responded by saying "it is being prepared". Cocktails were made incorrectly also. Honestly was just the most disappointing experience, ever.... I will never, ever, ever go to a hoyts again. This is the second experience. Together with my partner, it was a waste of 250. Also, there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms and they were kept very dirty. Would definitely not recommend. Village is 72733773738 times more luxurious and better service.
Went to a movie on 12 November 2022 and the power went out 30 minutes in. All the cinemas were evacuated. No refund provided, no credit back to online account, no way to call them to discuss, no contact from them to apologise given I booked online via my account. Customer service is digraceful.
Saw Avatar 2 3D here at LUX - very disappointed with venue and doubt we'd ever go to Hoyts/LUX again. Served stale & cold popcorn - must have been in a storage room for days/weeks. Service extremely slow - took 30 minutes to get our free minuscule size drink. Despite seeing 7:30pm session, was unable to buy additional drink at 9pm - entire LUX and regular snack bars had actually shut down & Hoyts unlike Village did not provide drink vending machines as alternative. Screen was tiny, seat map vs screen size thoroughly misleading which ruined the 3D. The worst thing however was the state of the toilets both LUX ones and general admission area - absolutely filthy and disgusting, obviously no cleaning was being done at all. We'll stick to streaming in future and if we do need a cinema visit we'll be going to Gold class instead - Hoyts seemed to have no idea what a premium movie experience should be like.
