I have eaten here quite often a least once a fortnight it is the best curry I have ever eaten. The staff are amazing and the food is delicious I wouldn’t go anywhere else, I would recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends. My children love it . I don’t understand how people can have negative reviews especially as they were staff and let the restaurant down with their poor service. Since the person has been terminated the service is 100 times better. Thanks house of Shalimar for your wonderful food and amazing service. I will definitely return
Ordered 3 meals for two of us plus breads. The butter chicken only had 4 small cubes of chicken. The Ghee Dosa come in a small tub and I kid you not it would not of filled a coffee cup. Not to mention the food was very watery. We had to order food from elsewhere as this was no where near enough and was tasteless
We went here on recommendation of a friend and the place didn't disappoint, esp biriyani. The food is of very good quality and taste. Their only disadvantage seems to be the location. More people might be able to appreciate it if it were closer to CBD.
The food is great and excellent customer service..! Best Indian restaurant in Geelong. We had chicken biriyani and home style chicken curry which was so delicious..! We keep coming there on every weekend...!
Shockingly slow service in s virtually empty restaurant and very bland food. Over 2.5 hours for an entre, main and rice. The order was wrong. One of the dishes was cold and the chicken was pink.The other dishes were just bland. Worst Indian food ever tasted. Only given 1 star because zero isn't an option. Will never go back
What a great treat for Mothers Day. We had a wonderful lunch. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Ben who looked after us was a charming man and I will definitely come for another great treat.
BEWARE !!! BEWARE !!!BEWARE !!! If u want to puke tonight have a food at Shalimar at least they cannot cheat South Asian. Please have ur health insurance before having food there. It's the worst food I have ever had in Geelong.Better to stay hungry then to get unwell after having their filth. My order contained dal makhnihad a stale and sour taste And Amritsari Paneer which was actually paneer bhurji they are fooling Indians by calling it Amritsari Paneer Masala Dosa made by their Sri Lankan chef ,claimed by the owner of the restaurant was actually made of Sooji and not rice. Chef needs to get trained again for preparing the menus. I am sure this kind of restaurant won't run for long time.
They don't know how to make Dal Makhani which is meant to be muddy and red but they served green Dal Makhani. If someone comes to my Resturant and complains I will not keep on saying this is Dal Makhani plus I haven't asked ask for refund as they are greedy didn't even said sorry as they were still stuck to there point that Dal Makhani is always green. So I will never return to you guys and now I'm not shocked why there was no one except us. Good on you Guys. Thanks for $15 Green plain Dal Makhani.
CAUTION: It's a advice to Geelong council to check there quality of food. I suffered whole night after eating there food. If I know any place where I can complain I must complain this Resturant.
Decided to try the new restaurant. Definitely left happy. Excellent food, excellent service and comfy chairs. Definitely returning to try the many things we missed out on that looked equally as delicious as what we had.
