Came here with a few friends for my wife’s birthday and was unfortunately disappointed. The hostess lacked the usual cheery greeting you’d want as they’re the first person to welcome guests to the restaurant and our waiter seemed so overwhelmed and unhappy that he often left us feeling like we had imposed. In his defense it was a Friday night and they did look pretty short staffed. My wife and I had ordered the Feed Me deal but we’re not informed until the entire table had finished their meals that we couldn’t order that unless the whole table ordered it. Wouldn’t have been a problem in reordering if we didn’t wait there wondering where our food was for nearly 20 minutes. Again, waiter wasn’t very apologetic in forgetting to explain but made an attempt to put our order in quickly. I felt a little embarrassed as this was meant to be a special occasion for my wife and she had been really excited to come to the restaurant. The only things that saved the experience was when our food did arrive it was fabulous, everyone loved their cocktails and sangria as well, and the one woman that brought food to our table was maybe the friendliest employee you have. It’s still a relatively new place I think so hopefully the kinks will be worked out over time. Good luck to you.

Nice and funny decoration! Food was amazing, especially the "volcano" that is very rich in flavours! Tacos are also tasty!! We had no trouble getting a table but booking is recommended. I'm definitely coming back!

A friend and I had the $45 feed me deal after neither of us were able to decide what we wanted. They did more than feed us. They stuffed us til we burst. I enjoyed everything they brought out plus a few of the drinks from a very decent drinks list. The margarita variations were pretty tasty. Will definitely be back for more.

As of late 2017, it's not worth going to Hotel Jesus. It does have a great venue, a (potentially) exciting menu and a positive, buzzy vibe. However, the ordinary taco fillings were very ordinary, the special taco fillings not at all special, and the guacamole was overwhelmed with a bizarre not-quite-lime flavour. (I've been to Mexico, I do understand the food, and I'm not put off by different approaches to the cooking.) Service was distracted and slow. For the money, serving sizes are an insult to your intelligence. Very poor value overall, even on Taco Tuesday. I desperately wanted to love this place, and it looks so good, but it just doesn't live up to the hype. Hotel Jesus has everything necessary to be a great taqueria, and if they work on these issues then it's still possible they'll eventually earn the five-star reviews that people are inexplicably giving them.

This is not only the best Mexican I've ever eaten (by a large margin) but actually one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a very long time... the staff were ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, friendly, well rehearsed on the menu, competent and warm...... and I recommend sitting at the bar as all of them made genuine efforts to make our time there very comfortable and educated us on all the flavours and origins behind our choices... the head chef (Luke) made a MASSIVE impression on us, even taking the time to introduce himself even though the venue was busy, he gave us fantastic suggestions and a few little bites of his favorites to try, WOW HOTEL JESUS!!!!!!! ............... I CAN NOT RECOMMEND YOU, YOUR MENU, OR YOUR STAFF ANY MORE IF I TRIED..... AMAZING.... thanks guys.... Jonny
