I went into the clinic feeling very emotional after a traumatic injury to my face, and the ER triage nurse, Holly, made me feel comfortable and calm while assessing my injury. I also enjoyed and appreciated the knowledge, skills, and insights of Dr Amy and plastic surgeon Dr Rosa. The last few days have been heavy for me emotionally, and at times, I've found it hard not to feel anxious or hopeless about my injury. The reassurances I've received from these professionals are words I've taken home with me and comfort me when I begin to feel as though healing is out of reach for me. Thank you for your skills, knowledge and expertise during this difficult time.
Terrible waiting time, even when we went there with our kid 27 months emergency. He had a fall and was suffering from the wound with blood in his face. He was screaming with pain, no one was listening. Had to wait over 4+ hours. When asked what time will it take, as the baby boy was not eating anything, and the pain, the nurses and receptionist was saying “I don’t know”. Very irresponsible answer, bit rude and no priority for kids here in this department of hospital. Make sure you are well prepared to cope of this kind of challenges in future, unless this hospital gets better.
I would like to express my gratitude to all nurses and doctors and the receptionist who helped me when I attanded ED today in the morning with a fractured foot. Yes, the waiting time is about 4 hours, but it's normal, it's the average time in any EDs, not sure why people complain about it. Absolutely wonderful team of healthcare workers, and the ED is clean and pleasant to be in. Thank you again, I appreciate your care and support .
I can only go off my experience there today. It might be different from other reviewsnnGot sent to quickly by triage and x-ray and physio. The physio man was very helpful and gave me a lot of good advice on how to mend my ankle. They also gave me some crutches.nnVery good stuff and wait time.nnThank you very much
Someone told police that I mentioned suicide few days prior, and police came to my home and despite I was fine and not depressed, police officers didn’t care, they didn’t want to be responsible and it’s easier to go enforcement route and screw you random citizen, policeman’s career is more important. so under threat of taking me by force I was brought to this hospital by police. And then made wait on a chair in the middle of emergency room for hours. Tired of waiting I asked am I free to go. The senior woman went away and returned with a page photocopied from some book. On that page is only one paragraph explaining that if you are behaving unreasonably, YOU WOULD BE RESTRAINED TO THE BED and ELECTROSHOCK WILL BE APPLIED TO YOU. It wasn’t written it in some hypothetical way, but explained as a real possibility that may happen. And then I see that there’s a pile of these pages printed for handout. She gave it to me when I asked calmly what is going on. What kind of Cuckoo’s Nest is this place? Why would a lead doctor give it to a person, especially person brought there by the police as suspected suicidal? What is wrong with this Nurse Ratchet? Why would you intimidate people like that?nafter waiting some more finally they sent someone to evaluate me. An intern. Who barely understand English. And when I was explaining couldn’t understand some words so I had to adjust and used language like talking to seven years old. And then I see they make notes in their notebook only if I say something negative. I remember how afraid I was at that moment, when whether I get restrained and electroshocked depends on how I play the role for uneducated intern. I was very frightened.nnFinally after few hours I was let go. I found myself in my home clothes and slippers with no money, at the other end of Sydney, and it was hottest day of the year, around 40 degrees. I wasn’t suicidal when police knocked on my door that morning , but after being put through this “suicide prevention” procedure I pretty much was. You can’t imagine a more dehumanising and abusive scenario than this.nIt traumatised me so much that I was only able to speak about it after few months. I made complaints to all involved departments and never got even a response.
