This place exceeded my expectations. I understand why so many people rave about it. The flavours were really good and serving sizes generous. The staff were very attentive which made for a great dining atmosphere.
Every single item we tried was delicious!! From the naan to the cocktails every single item was a hit. It was a very friendly atmosphere and the service matched. The restaurant is such a colourful and cool vibe, I would definitely go back and make this a place I bring people visiting Melbourne.
Had a wonderful experience at Horn Please Indian Restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The service was prompt, and every dish was well-presented and full of taste. The gol gappe were especially outstanding. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Indian food and great hospitality. Looking forward to visiting again!
Overall Rating: 3.9/5nn Food Quality / Taste: 3.7/5nA mixed dining experience overall, with some standout dishes alongside a few disappointments.nn* Okra Fries $22: The weakest dish of the meal. Very small portion size for the price, with a batter-heavy coating that overwhelmed the okra itself. The promised mango powder and fresh mint were barely noticeable, making it feel overpriced and underwhelming.n* Gol Gappa $15: A clear highlight, with six pieces, vibrant flavours, and excellent value.n* Aloo Baingan $26: Decent, enjoyable, and reasonably priced, though not especially memorable.n* Vegan Dhal Tadka $24: Solid and comforting, but not mind-blowing.n* Chilli Lachha $9: Tasty and fairly priced, but the description felt misleading. Rather than a bread stuffed with chillies as expected, it was more like a flaky pastry topped with herbs and chilli. Still enjoyable, just different from what was anticipated.n* Premium Aged Basmati Sella Rice $6: Good texture, fair portion, and solid value.n* Tandoori Roti $5: Fairly priced, but slightly too chewy overall, with many overcooked sections that were so crisp they resembled a cracker more than soft roti.nn‍ Service: 4.2/5nFriendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout. Slightly overbearing at times, but genuinely kind.nn Atmosphere / Vibe: 4.2/5nPleasant decor, stylish setting, and a quiet, relaxed Sunday lunch environment. The venue itself was lovely and very clean, though the music selection felt slightly random, with pop tracks that did not quite match the otherwise modern Indian dining atmosphere.nn Value for Money: 3.5/5nA few dishes delivered strong value, but others, especially the okra fries, felt overpriced for quality and portion size.nn Cleanliness: 5/5nImmaculately clean, polished, and very well-maintained venue.nnnnWhat We Ordered:n• Okra Fries $22n• Gol Gappa $15n• Aloo Baingan $26n• Vegan Dhal Tadka $24n• Chilli Lachha $9n• Premium Aged Basmati Sella Rice $6n• Tandoori Roti $5nnTotal Spend: $109.73 including feesnnnnFinal Thoughts:nHorn Please delivers a stylish, clean, and comfortable dining experience with friendly service and a few standout dishes. While menu consistency was somewhat lacking, particularly with overpriced weaker dishes like the okra fries, there were enough positives to make it a worthwhile visit. A few small adjustments, particularly around consistency and ambiance, could elevate the experience further.nnVisited during: Sunday lunchnMust Try: Gol GappanParking: Street parking availablenBooking Needed: Likely not essential for quieter lunch visits, but recommended during peak times
Abi gave us a warm welcome with his unforgettable majestic moustache, setting the tone for a wonderful experience. Dhruvi was absolutely wonderful. She made the best recommendations- Yoghurt kebab, Kadhai Paneer and Chili Paratha and Kulfi to finish our quick dinner. Every dish we tried was truly scrumptious. The food was great, but it was the exceptional hospitality that won us over. Dhruvi was there within seconds every time we needed anything, always with a big smile.. We’ll definitely be back as regulars!
