Story

Tucked down an iconic lane way in the heart of The Mount HIDE is a sun drenched courtyard by day that loves lazy long lunches that turn into nights and cool evenings by the open wood fire when the music gets bumped up a notch.

THIRST – We are NZ's first Moa bar with a full range of tap beers featuring the classics as well as seasonal and interesting creations from New Zealand's largest locally owned craft brewery. The wine list is a like a greatest hits selection of the best wines from around NZ and the world and we have had some local gurus create a cocktail list that has a little something for everyone.

HUNGER - Stripping back the layers and pomp of the early 00’s and delivering straight up good food and flavour for the play-it-safers, the adventurous, the sharers and the solo’s.

Hide is a great name as this place really is well hidden. You walk down a narrow walkway between buildings and find yourself in a beautiful courtyard. We went for Dumpling Sunday when all orders of dumplings (6 per order) are $10, a good deal.  We had three orders, trying the mushroom, the prawn, and the Korean sesame beef (this last one was deep fried). All were delicious. This atmosphere is really lovely, some tables covered, some in the sun, and a small indoor area, too. They have a nice selection of beer. We thought the service was terrific, too.

New place tried their lunch menu l liked the simpicity of the menu. Nice courtyard to dine in. Excellent service.

We came out as a family for dinner and were told the wait time was about 40 mins before we even sat down. When you go out with kids this is extremely helpful to know. The service was great, food was delicious and the atmosphere was top notch.

Service was absolutly ridiculous. Took AGES!!! for the food to arrive. Your staff definatly need some training. Will definaly not be returning here ever again and dont advise this place to anyone.

I don’t mind pretentious food so long as the chef has the chops to deliver on that expectation. 
Hide does not. 

Hide was disappointing. Expensive, pretentious and staff who seemed lost and untrained. 

Great beer. :)

Give me honest food like from CBK in Tauranga over this any day.
