200g Eye Mignon $34:nServed with two optional sides and a sauce, and I go for hips, mashed potato, and pepper sauce.nI used to make my steak medium well but this time medium rare and some edges are still burnt and bitter. The meat is thick, fresh and relatively succulent.nOn the other hand, chips and mashed potatoes are both very tasty.nnThere is a passage that goes under Gold Coast Highway to Westfield.nSurprisingly, it’s my first time seeing that many people eating at a tavern at noon because it usually only gets bustling at night but silent at day. There is even an area inside full of slot machines.nHowever, I wouldn’t suggest order and pay with the QR code because the internet is very slow and the staff at the counter is nice.nnTo top it off, good price for a steak, delicious food but can be improved, poor mobile service, sorry, 8 out of 10.nI mostly give 9 - 9.5 out of 10
These guys catered for a party of 30 people last night for my sons 30th. They tucked us away in a more private space and we had a great time. Big thanks to the friendly staff and management
Lovely tavern with friendly, efficient wait staff. Enjoyed lunch with our friends, who are locals. Generous portions. Our group enjoyed rump steak, beef schnitzel, steak sandwich and sweet and sour pork.
We went for their $15 steak night on a Wednesday. The food came out quickly & was actually really great. The atmosphere isn't awesome you can see the pokies from the dinning room & it's kinda small but I'd go back if I was a local for that Wednesday night deal!
First time there. Went for dinner.nAll staff were very friendly though.nnThis was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time.nBig fat juicy Rib Fillet cooked med to well, just as requested. And the same for my girlfriends med/rare. And big fat chips.nnCompliments to the kitchen staff and whomever purchases the meat.nnDefinitely will be going again.nGood job & keep it up. 5 out of 5nnEdit/addition: Mon 28/8/2024.nnAfter my first review, we have been back here several times, but.....nnHaven't been here for about 4 months, and what a disappointment.nnMy Rib Fillet was well less than a centimetre thick thin, and it was meant to be Medium to Well done. That means there should still be signs of pink.nSee how thick the same Rib Fillet used to be in my old photos.nIt also had that many fatty bits visible everywhere.nEven if it was Rump, it was no good.nnMy partner had the Lamb Chops with veg. The mash potatoe under the cauliflower was stone cold. Surely they forgot to microwave it?nAnd the cutlets, while a generous portion of 3 and a decent size were ruined by being over cooked, and crunchy. You can see in the photos attached.nMy reviews have over 827,000 views, and almost all of them are positive.nIt's such a shame that this little tavern has gone downhill in such a short amount of time.nI hope it was just one of those nights for the chef.nBut with so many choices in the area and Gold Coast, I won't waste my time going back.
