A very theatre, clean, warm friendly staff and amazingly beautiful. Once you come to Hayden Orpheum you'll never want to go anywhere else. It's a big step back in time and if you like art deco, you are in for a treat. I loved that they had autographed photos from celebrities that have popped in and old movie posters. A great experience
I was genuinely taken back by how nostalgic this place is. From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping back in time. The Hayden Orpheum has such a beautiful old-world charm that you simply don’t find in modern cinemas anymore. The art-deco interiors, patterned carpets, classic lighting and preserved details throughout the venue give it a real sense of history and character — especially the candy bar, which is a standout and really completes the experience.nnI visited to see a live show The Jury, and the theatre itself was the perfect setting. The atmosphere added so much to the performance — great acoustics, clear sightlines, and a feeling that you’re part of something special rather than just attending another show. It felt intimate, immersive, and memorable.nnEverything about the venue feels well cared for and authentic. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. It’s refreshing to go somewhere that has genuine soul and hasn’t lost its identity over time.nnParking was also much easier than expected. There is street parking available nearby, and there’s also a car park just a short walk away, which makes visiting very convenient even on a busy night.nnOverall, it was a fantastic experience and somewhere I’d highly recommend to anyone — whether you’re seeing a movie or a live performance. A true Sydney icon and definitely a place everyone should visit at least once.
Lovely old school cinema with a proper candy bar and memorabilia around the place to pass the time looking at them. There are quite a few cinemas, each with free seating. They show non mainstream movies as well as the latest block busters, usually you will find classics here and even live music events. Staff are very friendly. Parking can be difficult bit there are options at the back of the building
Old school charm brings the magic back to the cinema. After flash and leather recliners? This is not for you. Art deco decor, great service, a snazzi bar and live organ music to welcome the movie sound like fun? Then you are in the right place!nnIf you are early you can snag a park in tne Street behind the cinema. And there are myriad pre and post dining options all within easy walking distance.
Had the most amazing time watching Motown at the Orpheum tonight! Everything was absolutely perfect—the music, the electric crowd, ambiance, and the stunning historic theater itself. A massive plus that you can buy goodies from their fun candy bar and actually bring your food and drinks inside with you! A flawless, beautiful evening from start to finish.
