Over price and over cooked...We order 2 fish of the day ,2crab stick,3 oysters and half of scoop,it all came to $32..Well everything was over cooked and there was hardly any chips and the fish was small.....RIP OFF
This used to be our chippie of choice a few years ago. In fact it won a small competition we held in my office for the best chips in Nelson.nWell, the chips are still pretty good, although a little too greasy for my taste. They were fresh and salted nicely although perhaps a little over cooked.nI ordered 2 pieces of fish of the day blue warehou , and as you can see in the photos, they are a little smaller than you would get elsewhere.nI did also order some bluff oysters and they were fresh and delicious and cooked beautifully.nEven with these minor complaints, this is still one of the best fish and chips shops in town, and the locale is perfect on a nice sunny day. Grab a scoop and a fish and go sit on the wharf and watch the boats come and go! Worth it.
Turned up to be told that 2 of the items were not available so had to wait another 15mins for the replacements to be cooked. The food itself was crap-the fish was the size of a fish bit, the meat patty was the thickness of a piece of paper and the hot dog had batter that was so thin I doubted there was any batter on it!!! Don't go there if you want a good feed of Fish and Chips
Really good fish & chips - I had the blue cod. Probably the best chips I had my entire trip. I brought it down one star due to the small portion size versus cost. Otherwise everything was perfect
Ordered 5 fish, hot dog, meat pattie, crabstick and 3 chips. After picking up and bringing home, found no hot dog, the meat pattie was maybe a supermarket thin burger pattie, chips were cooked well. Don't know if I would be tempted to go back.
