Story

Harveys on James Street offers an all day dining experience of simple, unpretentious seasonal cuisine served in an inviting, stylish atmosphere. With the respected PJ McMillan at the helm, Harveys' food is honest fare made with integrity, created and designed to reflect the seasons and day-to-day availability.

Guests can have a few drinks and moreish snacks at the bar, enjoy great coffee over breakfast, ponder over lunch and dinner menus, or even book hosted events and offsite catering. Harveys offers something for everyone, real food prepared with imagination and respect, uncluttered by trends or fads, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

PJ's menus and daily blackboards are inspired by the variability of local seasonal fresh produce.

Breakfast was delicious but the service needs improving. We have been there three times and every time they got a beverage wrong. When ordering more beverages, they forget about it. Sadly, won’t be going back.
Terrific service and value. The signature Asian chicken salad simply the best.

Rude staff member at the front door waved us out of the restaurant when we asked if they had a table. He cut us off mid-sentence. Luckily the Chow House next door was welcoming and professional.
Went to Harvey's for lunch today. While the chicken salad was delicious, the food took 40 minutes to come out and the waitress who took our bill was extremely rude not just to myself, but also the other people on my table. Would not go back for this reason.
