The best Harvey Norman store in Brisbane. Wide variety of household goods at decent prices. Most products are fitted with a long warranty, making shopping here risk free. Staff are friendly and willing to bend over backwards for you. Very helpful and usually know what they are talking about. Located in Fortitude Valley opposite the new Tesla Centre, this Harvey Norman is quite easy to get to. Heaps of parking with first 3 hours free. Better to come on a weekday in the evening, as you will get served quicker. Stress free household shopping done right.

Do not go here. Was forced into buying a laptop I did not want after being assured it was 'better' than the one I did want (the one i wanted was out of stock). Multiple windows errors and blue screens later I returned the laptop (1 day after purchase) to replace it with a working computer. Was told I have to pay a restocking fee of %20 of the purchase price OR wait and let them fix the BRAND NEW COMPUTER. After arguing with sales staff about this I told them to send my details to another Harvey Norman store as this one was absurd and was trying to get me to pay for something that was there fault. The other store (Everton park), took the faulty computer and replaced it within 10 minutes with no fee and said "I have no idea why the Fortitude Valley store would charge a restocking fee on a faulty laptop".

The Fortitude valley store has the worst customer experience ever. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted and ready to but managed to get directed to 4 different people then left at the cashier long enough to decide to and write a review about the fact I still haven't been served. Would have been faster to go with Amazon and have it shipped from the US.

Horrible experience with these guys. My partner and I bought a drone reduced from about $300 to $193. We knew it was a cheapie and that it was just going to be for fun and nothing serious. When we bought it it actually didn't work at all, so we took it back and were looking to exchange it with something a bit better quality (I am thankful they didn't cause problems with this, when I mentioned it didn't work the guys rolled their eyes and knew it was a rubbish item stating they weren't surprised and "another one" was brought back). Immediately the guy we were directed to speak with and the manager were trying to pressure us into paying $1700 for a drone and get it on flexirent so we would end up paying about $300 more. I kept saying I didn't want to spend more than $600 but he just kept trying to sell us the most expensive items and actually being quite rude about it. We decided to walk away and think about it but when I asked him to write down the names of three he just said "just look on the website" and refused to write the names down for us. In the end we ended up just getting a refund, and the other sales man that organised this (I said I did not want to speak with the man I had previously spoken with) was fairly rude again. We ended up purchasing a $600 drone from Toyworld and we love it. Not to mention, we have now found out one of the Drone packs he was trying to pressure us into buying that was about $1000 is actually illegal to fly as it has FPV (not allowed in Aus). Don't waste your time with this shop. Go spend your money elsewhere!!!!

Paid $700 outright for a new phone at the end of Feb. After a few weeks it started overheating, couldn't make/receive calls & I couldn't get net connection without turning airplane mode on/off countless times. I took it back, was told to leave it with the techs to look at & return in 2 hrs. Came back after 2 hrs to actually be told they'd all gone home 1 1/2 hours ago and they handed my faulty phone back to me. Battled with it continuously until it hit breaking point. Took it in and the staff looked it over and admitted it was faulty. I was told they'd give me $200 credit for my faulty phone & if I paid ANOTHER $500, I could get a new phone (on a more expensive plan than the one I'm currently on). After I pushed the point they sent it off for repair- after I emphasized I'd be flying out of the country for a month in 5 weeks time & needed a resolution prior to that. I was told it would be resolved well and truely by then. No temporary phone was given. Got it back 2 weeks later & was told it had a "catastrophic programming error" which they had now fixed. The phone was worse than before. Went back 2 days after getting it back and said I wasn't pushing for my money back or an upgrade but that I just needed a phone that worked- which is what I paid for. I just wanted an exchange, but was told there was a procedure they had to follow (even though the staff could clearly identify it as faulty by the fact it wouldn't connect to anything and got so hot at times you couldn't hold it) & they had to send it back AGAIN for assessment. I re-iterated that I was flying out in a couple of weeks and it needed to be fast-tracked. Rang back at 4:30 on the Friday of the second week to be told Samsung only received it "yesterday". I was told by the staff that they were "doing everything they could" but I questioned that (considering I'd made it abundantly clear when I was flying out & they'd still not even sent it until near the end of the second week). The staff member said they'd ring Samsung straight away to see if he could get an over-the-phone assessment and he'd call me back. He didn't ring back. I rang at 5:15 (they shut at 5:30 on Fridays) to find out what was going on and was told all the technicians had gone home for the day. I was also told that they don't work weekends and that with the public holiday on Monday they won't be back until Tuesday. I fly out on Wednesday morning.
