This store is the worst and most disappointing store I have encountered in Australia. The after-sales service staff is insolently rude. On September 22, I bought a GARMIN sports watch specially for my daughter to wear when swimming, but on September 26, I found that it could not be charged or turned on. I went to the store for testing and told me that I could change the machine with a new one, but I thought the quality problem was just an accident and I agreed. I waited for more than a week and got the replacement watch on October 4, but my daughter only used it for two days and found that the watch always turned off automatically and was not sensitive to use. I was disappointed with this brand of products and demanded to return it with all the accessories and packaging. At that time, the staff said that due to multiple failures within a short period of time, they would definitely return the goods for me and ask me to wait for the notice, and they would contact me around October 20 to handle the formalities. I waited until October 28 without any phone calls or messages, so I had to ask the store again, and then the service told me that he could not return the goods because he had tested and found no problems. I asked him how he tested it. When my daughter used it , the automatic shutdown and crash are occasional events, if you just plug in the device to look at the circuit within a few minutes, it is indeed possible to find it, I am now disappointed with the product ,so I ask for a return, which is my right. He pointed to the papers on the wall and said, "if I don’t check out the quality we won't return it." This is really the first time I have encountered such poor service, and I hope someone can tell me how to complain to the relevant departments to deal with these businesses that bully consumers. I just found out today that these people are repeat offenders and have been doing this all the time. I swear that if I can't handle this matter properly, I will definitely tell every friend and person I know. Never buy from Harvey Norman again, because if you have a problem, your rights will not be protected. I asked for kindhearted people how to go to the relevant government departments to complain and seek help. I have just come to Australia , my English is not good enough, maybe this is the reason why they treat me unfairly.
Faulty product and store won’t replace after 2 weeks. I wouldn’t recommend buying a product from this company they wash their hands of it the minute you leave the store. Less than two weeks after purchasing this product which was suppose to make this solo mums life easier, it stopped functioning correctly. Given I purchased from Harvey Norman, I went to them who proceeded to tell me they would need to send it off for assessment for an undisclosed time. I gave videos and pictures showing what is happening - I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have a replacement. If the machine is faulty this early on, why would I want it fixed so soon knowing it will likely cause issues in the future if it already has after 2 weeks. I worked so much overtime to buy this $1900 machine to try and help with my busy life. I might as well just have thrown my money away. It’s not unreasonable to expect after spending that much much to have an actual working product in my home. I’m not an unreasonable person, if I had had the product for a few months, sure I’d be annoyed but I’d send it off. But come on, when it stops doing its job less than 2 weeks after I get it.. Disappointed is an understatement from Harvey Normans handling of the matter. Nothing like ripping off a single mum in this cost of living crisis. So glad I worked those extra 36.5 hours to pay for something that is useless. Between working full time and running 3 kids to their sports everyday who knows when I’ll get a chance to make the hour round trip back to Harvey Norman to even start the process to getting it sent off. Good luck getting anyone to call you back too. Being such a big purchase for me I went into a shop because my biggest fear was spending a small fortune and something going wrong. Stupid me thought by going in person, dealing with issues would have been easier. Should have bought online it’s basically the same service which is none.
We went in there wanting to buy a new vacuum, but was confused over the different brands based on what we currently owned. The lady who served us was so helpful, we checked out all the vacuums that we were interested in. We gave them all a try, and was able to compare based on our vacuuming routine. We left with a new vacuum.
So, i purchased a TV online with delivery from the Waurn Ponds store. The following day Monday i received an email to say my order was ready for collection, so, i contacted the online team and was assured that the store had been spoken to and delivery would be happening. On Thursday i emailed online to ask if anything had happened as i had no updates yet. On Friday morning 10/05/24 i rang the store at 11am and spoke to the team in the small appliances dept, who said they would get someone to ring me back, with no call back made. So i rang the store at 6pm after work from the car to ask what was happening, to be told "we thought your son-in-law was picking it up". I don't have a son-in-law. So i requested a refund of my $2500 to be told i needed to contact online. I followed the prompts in my email and requested a refund with the online team that stated they would personally contact me within 24 hours. It is now 4:15pm on Sunday night 12/05/24 and no refund, no response from online, no TV, and $2500 in the hands of Harvey Norman. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! Pity there's no '0' stars option. Update, still no refund as at Tuesday 14/05/2024 1:30pm.
Excellent customer service in the electricals department. Vlad really looked after us and helped us buy a great washing machine. Highly recommend this Harvey Norman franchise.
We have always purchased all of our electrical etc goods from HN WP and they have always been great to deal with. I recently had a problem with my Samsung soundbar and returned it to the store. Instead of just forwarding it onto the Samsung service centre, Baz did his own troubleshooting and was able to identify the issue. Baz went above and beyond to assist me and his customer service was exemplary.
Frank in the electrical department was very helpful. We were looking to upgrade our fridge with a product care credit. Girl at service desk was quite rude, unfortunately. Seemed annoyed and spoke quite rudely to my husband. We bought a fridge and the process was quite easy after that.
Went to print photos. Process took ages and photo quality is very poor. The photos are much darker than they should be.
Went in to get an idea of what kind of vacuum would suit our household needs and the employee Pauline was extremely helpful. She not only had ample knowledge on the entire range but she took as much time as we needed and was very down to earth and just a 'real person' rather than trying to just sell anything
Bought a kitchen aid mixer during Black Friday sale and the girl who served me was so good and friendly. The Cashier was really nice too. However my experience was soon soured shortly after. As I walked out with my son from the cashier the security alarm beep on us . The security guy yell to us to to go to the front counter which wasn’t needed, just ask us. Then the lady wearing glasses with light brown hair , treated me and my son like we were just stealing some stuff ! I just paid $596 for the mixer and she told me to show what I have I’m my bag , I took out everything and she told my son to show what he’s got , and she told my son “ maybe your shirt has a security tag “ My son calmly replied not that I know of . After that she told me to walk out first , as soon I walk out no beeping sound .Same to my son when he walk out no beeping sound !! Fix your security system alarm and learn how to treat your customer . And stop profiling customers that not Caucasian. Not everyone is a thief!! The “lady” that works at the front counter on 24/11 at 12:10 pm is so rude and doesn’t know how to handle the situation. She needs to learn how to talk to customers politely and respectfully.. I’m never going to shop here again. It’s obviously ok to check bags etc but if your customer service staff hate their life so much, get them help mentally, change their role to somewhere in the back or give them written warning re their attitude.
