Story

Guitar exchange has been serving the music industry since 1998. Don't let the name fool you, in addition to our great range of guitars we also stock just about everything else to do with musical instruments. Our staff are friendly, passionate musicians keen to help whether you're just getting started, or ready to upgrade your gear. Our music lesson centers offer private 1-on-1 lessons for most instruments, including guitar, bass, piano, vocals, drums and more. Instrument repairs and services are also available, so come in and check out what's on offer.

Last time  was in I asked for 10% teacher/muso discount which I had received in the past. I was met with very rude response and a sob story about how hard times are. After reluctantly purchasing the item, as I was leaving I over heard him going on to the office lady about it. Today I needed a string. It had $4.50 on the sticker. The guy said they're now $5. I wasn't going to make a scene for 50c. I told him politely that in retail you generally pay the price on the tag. He said he was new and didn't want to get in trouble. Come on people - train your staff in retail etiquette.

Bought a acoustic guitar from this shop about 2 years ago and it was awesome service, but just called up today just curious about pricing of replacing a string and the guy just starting laughing and said righto mate bye at me because what I asked . I also had a warranty on it so  I was seeing that would cover and if it didn’t that would have been fine I would have paid the price. But being disrespectful to a customer just for asking a simple question isn’t professional customer service.. now I will take my time somewhere else.

The saff are great, friendly and helpful.  The lessons are reasonably priced and the teachers are lovely.

Absolutely amazing service. A wonderful experience.

Great place for all your music needs

A little disappointed with their service. I spent almost 3k worth of gear there. I had purchased speakers, mixer,  leads, microphones, and more. 1 of the speakers straight out of the box was faulty. I took it back and told them about the fault. I would have thought given it was brand new they would replace it a few days later 2 weeks later I had to ring in to see what was happening. Very disappointed.

I've had a terrible experience and I'm super frustrated. "In stock" on the website is a straight up, blatant lie. In stock actually means "our supplier might have it but we're not really sure" never again

Incredibly helpful and nice staff, plus they really know their stuff about music and instruments which comes in handy when shopping for certain items. Lots of great quality equipment and great brands. They do lessons for a variety of instruments, which have great teachers who are actually patient with beginners and can keep up with expert pieces. Overall love the atmosphere and everyone who works there

Ordered my guitar online using afterpay. Got a great response from the staff, email and phone calls to keep me updated. Shipped to Perth without any dramas. Big shout out to Ben,  really cool guy. Guitar arrived safe and sound. Highly recommend these guys. One very happy customer

Great place.  Lovely teachers.  Good vibe.  Lose a star for not allowing catch up lessons.  I do understand why... Many teachers are completely booked up every lesson, I imagine.  But if you had a run of bad luck and missed a few lessons a term from illness/school camp/broken bones etc etc... you'd be down $75 with no compensation.  Would be better if you at least attempted to to fit in a catch up somewhere and if there wasn't one available, you get one lesson a term credit max for illness etc.  Just isn't very fair for the consumer.   Previous private lessons we had always allowed catch up lessons.
