I went in today with Dr Jenna, I can’t thank her enough for making me feel lot better after seeing her. She is one of the best doctors in Hobart, a very caring person, polite and kind. Thanks
Overall experience is fine. Doctor and nurse are very kind and professional, except an elder lady at reception had rude attitude and poor patience. I would recommend this GP but kindly remind you try not to contact with the receptionist I mentioned.
I am sure the practice might be fine. This star rating reflects Dr Toby Catlin and the experience with this doctor. It is my personal opinion that I would not recommend this doctor, especially if you are or a family member is in a palliative care situation.
I was very worried to see a new doctor, Dr Toby Catlin after reading the negative review on here. I'm sorry for that persons experience but I am glad I went anyway, I was treated professionally with dignity & respect. He might not be the right doctor for you but I would recommend giving him a go.
You will find here a meticulous, careful, caring and professional group of doctors who treat their patients with the appropriate levels of treatment. The one and only drawback to this surgery is unfortunately a major one, that they cater to walk in students from the nearby university as well as their many regular patients. This open book system has thus lead to the untenable situation where waiting times blow out with alarming regularity, as seen by the amount of time cited here that patients spend at the surgery, an average, 1.5 hours. It's quite rare to have a GP consultation longer than 20 minutes, so only the waiting can explain all the excess time patients are noted to spend in attendance here. Rarely will a booked appointment ever be seen at the actual time the patient has booked it, and even more rare is their secretary calling you to forewarn that the doctor is running late. This information is usually provided only upon arrival. I have on numerous occasions then been given time delay estimates that are often overly conservative and incorrect, leading to my waiting for lengthier periods of time than most would consider acceptable. From overheard comments in the waiting room, these are systemic problems with this surgery. If these issues could be adequately addressed, I would happily give these high quality doctors the five starts that their high degree of skill and thorough professionalism is thoroughly deserving of. Maybe bring a book?
Doctors go through everything well. Supported me through my pregnancy and made time available when the hospital wouldn't listen to me. Expect a wait time, but if you call up before your appointment the Ladies at reception will give you a rough time of when the doctor will see you so you don't have to come in and wait forever. Also really flexible if they are running behind and when the doctor will see you you are not available. My doctor was once running behind and when I said I had to go to work for a two hour shift a few streets away, they just left me checked in until I could return and doctor saw me next.
Worst practice I have ever experienced. I had a 4:30 pm appointment, I eventually got to see the dr who I was told “runs late” at 8:15 pm . When asked if I was able to bulk bill as I had just work due to the wait time I was refused and treated like scum by reception staff. This is the most extreme wait time I experienced but on 5 occasions the wait time has been more than 2 hours , the specifics is in apologetic as are staff and the practice manager. There are also two receptionists that have the worst attitude I’ve ever come across in customer service , when attending a doctors appointment you are generally not feeling great to begin with and they make the experience that much worse , will not be recommending or attending this practice again. I was also charged on more than one occasion for a long appointment when the dr spent 25 mins of the appointment on hold to a specialist I said I didn’t want to pursue that avenue .
I have been going there and had the worst visit ever today! How can a big practice like this recruit incompetent, arrogant doctors? I went in to have a referral and the doctor Doug Devereux is very judgemental! No empathy for the client and no listening skills whatsoever. He thinks I came to the GP for fun!
The so-called Dr Sam Maloney was so If you don’t want to be a doctor, please leave. Please don’t waste our precious time. How you clinic recruit this kind of rude doctor to serve community? What a shame. You made me disappointed.
So I can't get an appointment because I'm not an existing patient? It's pretty hard to believe that they're busy literally forever. Very disappointed especially as this is the only OSHC provider in Hobart.
