Stopped here on a Saturday during September 2022 school holidays and the camping grounds were packed with campers and caravaners which really doesn't appeal to me as I like to camp where it's not busy so I was glad I wasn't staying over night. Not sure what the amenities are like but the grounds themselves look to be in good condition considering the recent rainfall. My advice is to check toad conditions when there's been rain as the creek crossings leading out to the camping grounds can be under water. Definitely a nice spot even if its just for a day visit.
Great camp-site, clean, roomy. Only downside on this visit was the toilet, it was clean but reeked. Still, it is worth a visit. Dog friendly as well.
Nice campground not far out of town. 10 min drive to Point Pure, 4x4 recommended.
Stayed here overnight. Cheap, not crowded, had a fire pit and allowed dogs. Toilets but not shower. Freezing cold late at night and slept in the car, in end of October. Felt safe, reasonably private and very peaceful. Unmarked police did a drive-by early evening. Would not recommend a tent unless December or January. As far as dog friendly camping sites this is one of the absolute best. And the view of the Milky Way late at night was unforgettable. Highly recommended.
Not a bad little camping ground. Very basic facilities available. There are taps, but the water is non potable. There are hiking trails leading off the camp grounds; one is overgrown and the path is crumbling, and the other one was extremely muddy. The road getting there is dirt and quite bad in places. There is also two lookouts in the area, both difficult to get to without a 4wd.
Great little campground and pets can come too. Need to be pretty self sufficient but there are toilets, there are some fire pits scattered around also. Campground is a rather large and you may be able to grab one alongside the creek. A short distance away there is a couple of lookouts.
My partner and I really enjoyed this spot. Quiet, calm amongst nature. Had a visit from the cows too which was nice. Tidy camp site. Loved our stay
Nice camping area with plenty of space, toilets ran out of paper however, it looks like they are maintained on Fridays. Lots of rock climbing around too.
Nice camping ground away from the masses. Drop toilets probably need more regular cleaning as they are Grose, but aren't they all. Nice little swimming area with very little water. No powered sites so make sure you bring torches etc. Also book online prior to entering the camp grounds. Internetand phone reception is limited at best.
I only visited but it looked like a lovely spot. The rangers were there doing regular maintenance and there were just a few campers and caravaners. It was a Monday so I expect it was busier over the weekend. Once leaving the main road at Glastonbury, half the road in to the camp was bitumen and the last half was well graded dirt. I noticed some hiking trails too. Point Pure Lookout is nearby and well worth the visit. Cheers... Chris Mathers. Lowood QLD
