Story

Established in 1912, Gympie State High School has a long and proud tradition of pursuing academic, sporting and cultural excellence.

We offer a well-rounded education with:

* a diversity of curriculum supplemented by extensive co and extra curricula activities

*opportunities for all students to participate and strive for their personal best

*a stable, very experienced and dedicated staff.

Mission

We prepare our students to thrive as individuals. We strongly believe that the education we offer extends beyond the classroom and promotes a balance within our students.

They are encouraged to take advantage of the extensive range of subjects, certificate courses, school based traineeships and the Senior Preparation Semester along with our co curricula and extra curricula programs.

This diversity ensures there are opportunities for all our students to be their best.

The school values universally recognised Virtues, and provides opportunities for their development in all members of the school community.

Priority will be given to the Virtues of respect, trust and personal responsibility.

These Virtues underpin the School Support Program, Behaviour Management Policy, Professional Development and Positive Relationships Programs.

Respect ensures courtesy and consideration among all members of the school community.

Trust ensures openness and confidence in relationships between different groups within the school community.

Personal responsibility ensures that students/staff/community members behave with integrity and commitment.
