Glasshouse Hotel

I dined at this wonderful restaurant a couple of weeks after it opened. That was some two years ago as I recall. The service was excellent, with an attentive, informative staff. The wines were perfectly matched with each course. The bartender also mixed a perfect Martini with Plymouth English gin and Dolin dry vermouth.

An excellent public house for a pint or a dram... good food and generally quiet. Within close proximity of hotels and the China Town district... a good alternate if you cant't seem to find a dinner reservation in the China Town district and you don't want hotel food.

As we were catching up with interstate family who were performing in the Fringe we did a a little research to find a place to eat that was close the their accomodation and who also had a menu that suited a number of dietary requirements. We came across The Glasshouse Hotel & after looking online at the location and menu on offer we went ahead to book a table of 13. When we arrived a few days later we were met with staff who had very little in the way of customer service skills putting it politely. While waiting for the whole group to arrive we again looked through the menu. To our shock the menu that was posted on their website had a lot more on offer than what was in front of us there. One of the dietary requirements was soup as the person was on a restricted liquid diet so with soup no longer on offer had to opt for a chai latte for dinner! There were only a few Vegitarian offerings now as well. When quizzed about the menu a staff member Manager? said “oh that’s an old menu on our website”. In my opinion that’s just not good enough. If the menu on the website is old then either update it or remove it!!! Very misleading. With all of the group seated we could do little about it and simply just choose from the menu in front of us. When ordering our meals they had actually run out of a few of the items on the limited menu that people had chosen. All in all it was a very disappointing evening that was supposed to be a great night showcasing Adelaide restaurants to our interstate travellers, not leave us apologising to them instead.

Great to have a semi-decent bar lounge area in this neck of Chinatown. Good selection of wines, beers. Great spot for sipping, chillin and people watching.

Cool place to go for good conversation with friends. Ok selection on menu. Reasonably priced. Quick service.

Excellent place...Cleanest toilets iv ever been in...smell sooooooo nice....Go there it's a GREAT PLACE I WILL GO BACK THERE. .ITS GREAT

I like this place. Great beer, terrific service and a cosy establishment.

Unfortunately the good ol marques has closed down. I miss their fantastic wine selection and the somewhat fine dining experience.

Very ordinary for a craft beer lover hardly anything on tap and less in bottles. The King's head is a short walk away so go there
