Small but exceptional menu of Polish delights. Really enjoyed the crepe croquettes and the cured trout. The smalec was lovely and meaty while the pierogies were middling but nice to see them on a menu.
Nice looking place with a pleasant on street dining area.
Unfortunately I've experienced big disappointment. Food we got wasn't even average. Schnitzel was terrible . I'm originally from Poland and I know what I'm talking about. Overpriced as well. Only one polish beer to choose from is a joke. Giving 2 stars as service was polite.
For the food quality - overpriced. Besides Borsch, which in fact didn't taste like Ukrainian one, the rest didn't come good. Prices don't match the quality. The service is nice, but that doesn't help much when food is different.
Google, the sign writing on the door and even the answer machine says this place is open from 5pm on Saturday. Turned up at 5, nothing, lights off, no one around. Waited till 5:30, still nothing, gave up. When you call the phone number on the door you can hear it ring empty inside the premises. What happened?
Delicious homemade style food. The staff were so welcoming and warm. It would be great if they had some music playing for added ambience.
Polish food can be a rare find and it was fantastic to find out that this place provides a great range of dishes, all prepared in a high-quality manner. I started with a serving of pierogi in Ruski style potato and cheese. If you're new to Polish food, pierogi is the country's version of dumplings. They're made a little bit larger than dumplings from other countries and the dough is flour-based. Having been to Poland, I can tell you that this place makes the same traditional kind that you would find in Poland. For the main, I had the bigos - a stew made of sauerkraut and Polish sausage. The serving size and quality of the dish was excellent. With the pierogi and bigos combined, I felt very content. To complement the food, you can always rely on good Polish beer and this place had an impressive selection, particularly given that it can't be difficult to track down so many varieties of Polish beer in Australia. If you haven't tried it before, the flagship beer, Zywiec, I regard as being one of the best unknown beers out there. Then to finish off my meal, I had a shot of gorzka, a Polish digestive vodka that has the same relaxing effect of grappa or port. Can't wait to come back!
Coffee was good but they don't do breakfast. Apparently it's a lunch place? Messaging was very unclear. Visited at 10am on a Wednesday.
Totally impressed, helpful friendly family style experience.....food was fresh, portion size and variety a plenty.............will be back again
Look, i only drive past these stores on my Gopher, i don't go inside, i don't buy rubbish that all the square people go to & I don't spend money, 80% of my food is out of dumsters/bins, with a few days left on the "use by" date, Okay?
