I love this cafe. I have been there few times now, sometimes for food, sometimes for tea and cake, sometimes with kids, sometimes by myself and I was always treated very nice. Food has been always very tastes and fresh made. Tartar sauce was outstanding!
Stopped for lunch today really busy little spot, very small inside for the volume of people and dogs inside and out good was mediocre, mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy at all my friend for a cheese panini that had so little cheese she felt like she was eating a dry panini. Shame looks like it has so much potential too.Food: 2/5
The staff member that served me was incredibly polite and attentive. They provided a great service, it was friendly and helpful. The food was also fresh and hit the spot! My family and I will return again soon! Kid-friendliness: The kids adored their lunch boxes, they spent half the time pretending to feed them their crisps.
Waited about 20 -30 minutes in the queue to order food. There were only 5 other parties in the queue. We have our son who was very bored. The lady behind us also had a child who was clearly bored. The guy who was taking orders was also prepping all the cakes, soup and soft drinks to go out. This seemed very unorganised and added to the delay. My wife and I had panini which were ok. We ordered my son a kids box and the cheese sandwich was shockingly awful. The sandwich was the ends of the bread which for our 16 month old son would have been difficult to chew. The cheese was processed strips of American style burger cheese. We know they had normal cheese because it was on our panini. There was also hardly any butter on the sandwich making it very dry. We would simply never come back because our son is our main priority. Due to the disappointing food to give children we would never want to come back. We understand the difficulties for small businesses right now but surely businesses need to understand if customers can make better themselves why should they buy from a small cafe.
Very disappointed in our experience today. My family went for lunch here. My partner ordered a quiche and paid for it. Waited ages my lunch was served but my partner did not get his order, however we saw other people being served quiche that arrived after us. When he questioned that he has not received his lunch the staff member said there was no more quiche left after watching everyone else being served there lunch quiche after him. Customer service was poor. Did offer another option and just asked if he would like refund. Just very disappointed that someone had to leave hungry. My daughter had a cheese sandwich. The sandwich had awful plastic cheese in the middle so she never ate that either. Very disappointed indeed. I won't be back.
Staff were very friendly and the cafe offers basic food and cakes that look nice. So it started well, we both ordered jacket potatoes with salad at £5.50. As we were sat outside sun was out we had to have takeaway. The potatoes came with no salad and barely any topping, I was disappointed with the price paid. If I happen to be in the area I would eat there again, probably have the cake, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here which is a shame because it's got lots of potential.
We visited on a really sunny day and both the service kiosk and the main counter were queued - staff were calm under pressure, making sure to double check all orders to avoid mistakes. We didn't wait that long for food despite how busy it was, and we managed to get an outdoor table as staff were clearing them and cleaning them as soon as they were vacated. The real star quality of the cafe is how friendly and helpful the staff are. Later on my son fell at the skatepark and cut his knees. I took him into the cafe and asked if there was a 1st aid kit. Two of the staff took time it was still busy to ensure we got sorted with antiseptic wipes, plasters and an ice pack. One of the staff, a really nice young guy, sympathised with my son who is 10 about skating injuries and made him feel better about his fall. It was such a small thing but it really helped and I really appreciated that. Would highly recommend the cafe mainly for food, but also if you skin your knees
What a great surprise! Such a nice atmosphere! The staff are lovely, coffee is great and reasonably priced, I had a leek quiche that was made with the Leeks planted by the Royal Caledonia Horticultural just behind the café, I thought this was ver cool! the offering is limited however the lovely lady at the counter mentioned that they will grow the offer as they just opened, also learned that they are part of Four Square charity! , This made me even happier as they help fighting homelessness within our community. A weekly stop from now on!
I was in yesterday me and my children enjoyed our food and the service, they were very busy and at some points you could see they were struggling more staff would be helpful during the Easter weekend but everything else was great. The garden was beautiful as well.Food: 5/5
Took one of my clients to the cafe for tea and cake after a walk around the Rose Gardens, we had service with a smile from Hanna, and it was a nice day so we sat outside. Lovely place.Food: 4/5
