The team in the South Wharf store was friendly and helpful. The review below is about delivery and customer service: Miscommunication, delivery whenever they want 6:45am! not respecting building rules. No change of mind policy and with that I mean after having informed of dissatisfaction about 1 item immediately - by delivery, no customer service they are only able to write standard words, without trying to solve the issue and help the client.
Great Service by the team here at South Wharf, A special mention to the ladies at the desk who were amazing and helpful. Great knowledge and we’re constantly updating me on the delivery times and changes. Sabrina and her amazing colleague are great!
Customer service is terrible! First, the day I was buying my furniture Tina was the person who was “helping “ me, when the time to pay came she was more focused of other people who just came into the store than me. She literally rushed me without answering any of my questions. Then because I was not allowed to make questions that day I was suggested to soy for the delivery service $150, which is not a big deal at all if they al least tell you what time your goods are being delivered. If I was told that I had to wait from 7am to 7pm for a 30 min phone call prior arrival for my furniture I’m sure I would have contracted a more serious company to take care of my delivery!!! I live in Docklands, which means I live in a residential building; meaning I have to make a booking for the elevator to be able to bring my furniture up, which I’m not able to since they don’t even let you know 3 hours prior delivery. I had to missed a whole day of work, keeping eye on my phone every 5 min to make sure I don’t miss the call if not they just leave straight away and you must pay another $150 Do yourself a favour, read the reviews before buying! Don’t be like me.
The staff here need some basic customer service and sales skills. Was going to buy in-store, but I am getting online cos the service was so bad. I was 10 meters into the store and before I even sat on the sofa they asked if I was genuine customer and will I be buying today. Another told me no sales today, yet another team menver told me about the sale they have on currently on. I was also told the sofa I was interested in was too low and I shouldn't get it, and to get this other one that wasn't even in the same style. They were hesitant to look up to see if it was in stock and kept pushing me towards a sofa that wouldn't fit in my room. They just couldn't understand. It was such a strange experience shopping here.
I had Svetlana assist me with purchasing a new sofa. She was knowledgeable of the products and she personalised the sale process from start to finish for me - she was also a blast, very funny and extremely personable. The team was attentive and made themselves available while I sorted out measurements at my apartment to make sure everything would fit and they clearly explained the process should it not fit on delivery day, which was easy to understand. I would absolutely return to Focus on Furniture South Wharf DFO - especially if Svetlana is working! Also - massive shout out to the delivery crew. They were on time and they managed to maneuver the new couch through the apartment complex and into my place, which was no easy job due to the tight squeezes, and assemble the full couch in <15mins. Very, very professional.
Stay away from this store.!! The rudest staff I have come across., Probably focuson should invest in some services, sales trainings for their staff ! The only time the staff is helpful when you put a deposit.! Went into the store with a view of changing a product type which isn't even delivered yet and thought of adding couple of more products to the quote, but after my experience thats not going to happen with them anyway. Always used to shop from Preston store, but did a mistake walking into this southwharf store in the first place.... Focuson also expects you to understand and be flexible when stocks are not available but will not understand when it comes to be flexible in terms of offering after sales, and or delivery support. As per my experience, A lot of Things dont align with their Satisfaction Guarantee as published on their website !
Purchased over $11,000 worth of furniture from Focus on Furniture in South Wharf DFO. Many thanks to Svetlana and Sabrina for their excellent customer service. I had many reasons to be concerned about service including getting specially arranged delivery to fit-in with my scheduled move into my new apartment I drove from Sydney so was handled remotely. The staff at Focus on Furniture were able to handle this request in their stride and kept me up to date with the information of the removalists and updated invoices when some of the items I ordered were not in stock no biggie, we just selected other items that were in stock. Following my initial order bed frames, mattresses I then bought my leather sofa, dining table set, half table, coffee table and bed sidetable from Focus on Furniture. The reason was simple: value for money - if you're an engineer like me, well engineered and manufactured products are worth the extra $$$ especially when most people are cross shopping with IKEA which is basically post-laminated woodchips MDF. With the furniture I now I have, I can be at peace with my decision for at least the next 20 years - that's how good the quality is - real wood and real metal frames. All furniture came pre-assembled except for the bed-frame which I paid the additional $60 to have assembled. In the same delivery the delivery team assembled all of my dining chairs and my sofa. Delivery team was extremely polite and we had a good friendly chat about what to do and see in Melbourne as I've never lived here before. If you have a bad experience shopping from Focus on Furniture, I would generally blame yourself the buyer who are probably not well planned and organised. I moved interstate had all of my deliveries lined up went through multiple changes to my invoice and all without any mistakes from the Focus on Furniture team. All of requests were promptly handled and they even reached out to central HQ on one occasion to get me a package price for the dining table set which had not yet been made public. This shows you that the company actually is more than the sum of its individuals but really works as a team - they are also small enough that you will be handled by mainly one or two people who will remember you and help you through the process. These people will always be in the store when you go back unlike other furniture stores. This is a long review - but it needs to be - I'm surprised this brand hasn't been more recognised for longer - forget the competition which is generally way more $$$ or overpriced IKEA. I will be a return shopper for as long as there is a Focus on Furniture in the city I'm living in. Thanks a lot! Hope you enjoyed reading it if you made it this far!!
Friendly customer service but their Price Beat Guarantee is a lie. I purchased a product and paid the deposit. Later the price dropped in price before delivery. I requested for the dropped price since the product is not yet delivered and they denied to reduce the price. Seems very unfair.
The team at Focus on Furniture South Wharf provided exceptional customer service from purchase through to delivery. I was able to purchase a reasonably priced, hardwood bed no mdf or veneers over the phone and have it delivered promptly. The in-store team member also rang the delivery driver the day before delivery as there was a tricky issue. The drivers delivering the bed arrived promptly, were polite and super efficient in assembling and installing the bed. It was amazing! Bed looked even better than pictured. The store manager should be so proud of the team! Every step of the way, the service could not be faulted. Cannot recommend more highly!!
