The new staff are extremely helpful and friendly at all times. I was a member years ago and the management was terrible so I cancelled my contract and vouched never to return but I'm back & I absolutely love it. The staff are great, they make me feel so comfortable. The area is always neat & tidy and I've since I've been back, I haven't had any issues. If you've been burnt by this gym before, I strongly suggest giving the new management another chance. They're top notch : So glad I've signed a 12 month contract!
WORST GYM I HAVE EXPERIENCED. I have turned up to several classes to which no one had informed me the classes were cancelled due to low numbers. When instructors have turned up for their next class an hour later they have mentioned it is not their problem. Management is extremely rude and unaccommodating. Not to mention the facilities are broken and have been for quiet some time - I have used the showers and twice the shower head has fallen on me. Many women I have spoken to are looking to leave past their minimum term on the contract as the club has proven to be a major disappointment. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Agree that this gym needs a refurbishment, someone to more frequently clean and wipe down machines, and that the machines do look very old although I think they are modern but interestingly "styled"!. However I disagree about the service and friendliness of staff. A smiling face always greets you. Its a gym that does the job and where women of any size of shape can feel comfortable and motivated. The beauty of it is that there is always a free machine and you are never battling for space. And I love the music - top 40. But if you want state of the art, facilities an incredible class timetable, wheatgrass shots and no free machines go to Virgin Active in Zetland.
The most disgusting gym that i have ever been to. They are famous for ripping you off. If you freeze your account, your contract gets extended for no reason and without your consent. Also, I dint receive any email or any letter for some 24/7 access key. I was on a holiday and when i was back i saw there was extra money deducted from my account for some 24 access key which i havent received till date nor have i recived any email/letter/phone call regarding this as per the staff who claim that they had informed all their customers which is a BIG LIE. When i happen to check with the staff, they told me about the 24access key and i wasnt intrested. They literally told me they cant do anything about it and i have to further keep paying for the keys something that I'm not intrested. Now that i have cancelled my membership with them , they have made a bill of 526$ telling me that cancellation fee is 200$+ 24 access keys+ additional admin charges as i have asked for refund. Never join this gym as their main aim is to keep deducting money from your accounts without even informing you. NEVER EVER JOIN FERNWOD.
I agree with Alana, how DUMB are these women working here and writing FAKE REVIEWS LOL!?!! Clearly 3 reviews at the same time with 3 pictureless profiles. Nice try bimbos : And amazing that you know there will be a "new espresso coffee machine coming with free coffee..." lol BIMBO. My friend said she had a bad experience with the women there and that they're all biatches and she advised me not to sign up to this shiithole. After looking for a new gym and reading the reviews, that confirms now I definitely won't be signing up! : I'm going to look somewhere else in the area. Haha what a bunch of dumb morons writing their own fake reviews. Plus when I've called reception to enquire they have been rude and cold, and back in the day that beauty salon was full of DUMB staff. I went once and never went back. We are SMART women, we pick up on your bullshit. Well spotted too Alana.
How amazing is this place - if you're sick of working out with guys ogling you and hogging the equipment then Fernwood Green Square is for you. I hadn't been to a women only gym before and arrived today to find they've cut a huge window into the kitchen where they do free brekky so we can easily see through to where the new free espresso coffee machine will be living. This lounge area has books and magazines to read and it's funny but the girls on reception just make you feel right at home.
I dont know why people are leaving bad reviews! I have just signed up to this gym and its amazing! everything is new and super clean, the staff make you feel welcome all the time, the classes they offer are amazing and there are so many to choose from! honestly the best gym ive ever been to!
Small Group Personal Training - its awesome. I didn't think I could afford a personal trainer until I went through the membership options at Fernwood Green Square and now I can train unlimited sessions a week. I've lost 17kg so far so it's time to share the love and the news. I read a review by someone who has obviously never been here so thought -it's time.
I am absolutely appalled with this gym, i have been a member there for just under a year and I had fortnightly payments taken out, then i looked into my back account to see that they are taking out more money and once a month!! So i asked them why and they said that i was sent an email to say that they would take out this extra money for the 24 hour access key.. which i don't want. I NEVER approved for them to take out this money and they haven't replied after i asked for a refund of the additional about they have taken out. I WILL BE CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP ASAP.
Less than impressed i have had my account put on deferral due to be lied to about so many things now to be told from new management that there is a fee each month for deferral a i never paid that due to the fact of why i was put on deferral and b when i called to find out about taking my account off deferral i was never advised of these charges. A brand is a brand. If a brand chooses to put people in managerial positions they choose to take responsibility for their actions and the consequences of possible damage to that brand. Being ignorant to the nightmare people have signed up for based on the old managers signed them up is no good enough. My account being on hold due to being lied by the organisation is not something that should incur a charge especially 1 that i was not told about! Fernwood have a bad reputation just look at the site not good enough and you'll see. Couldnt be any more annoyed at fernwood and never regretting signing up to something as much as i have now. Disgusting treatment of members who have already been lied to and deceived.
