Desserts @ Europa Cake Shop. . Established in 1982, Europa Cake Shop is a powerhouse pastry brand, offering offer vibrant, sweet flavourful dessert pastries that have delighted for generations. . Their Vanilla Slice AUD $7 holds together better than most, thanks to the additional layers of crisp puff pastry, layered in the middle and sandwiching both ends. . This also means it has slighlty less wobbly soft vanilla-infused custard within, though I find it's not overly cloying or heavy on the palate, just nicely balanced instead. This vanilla slice carries bright floral bready earthy sweet flavour, yum. . The Cherry Custard Cheesecake AUD $8 is delicious. The base features a graham cracker crust, crumbly with buttery sweet flavour. A thick creamy block of custard cheesecake sits on top, rich with milky sweet floral flavour. . Topped with juicy stewed cherries, bright with fruity herbal sour sweet flavour, contrasting the richness of the cheesecake nicely. This cherry custard cheesecake was a delight.
The cake is yummmmm. The service is great!!! The owner bakes his cake himself. He was super nice, I came here in a rainy day, ordered a cap and choco mud, everything was wonderful. And he offered me another one choco flavour as well since he couldn’t sell due to its broken surface of it. Thanks for making my night!! Totally recommend.
Spent $34.50 on dessert that was not done daily as mention the custard had curd and was horrible the rest was dry and pastry crumbled. Worst experience ever and very disappointing.
Again, no prices in these cake shops in Acland st. I asked the girl for prices and she said that the ones in the window had them... She obviously doesn't look in them as there were no prices. The cakes were ok. A little tasteless. We had the strawberry tart and the ricotta and chocolate cheesecake and the fruit tart which was forgotten, yet nice. Again, a smile and friendly service seems to be lacking.
I wish I read the reviews before paying $17 for two poor slices of cake. The Black Forest cake didn’t taste anything like Black Forest or chocolate, just cream and sugar. We couldn’t finish it. The cherry custard cheesecake definitely wasn’t fresh as the topping was congealed/slightly hardened. Don’t spend your money here.
I have been here many times over the years and even order cakes here for Christmas and special occasions, but after picking up some cakes from this shop the other day I was shocked and disappointed with the quality, the vanilla slice was sour and tasted off as if it was left out in the Sun, the cheese cake was gritty and bland, lacking any real flavour, I can’t believe this is the same shop we used to specifically travel to St Kilda for their cakes. Sad to see what has happened to this place.
worst cakes I've had from a bakery ever. Vanilla slice was made of cornflour custard. French vanilla was basically gelatine and sugar, not a drop of cream to be tasted. fruit flan was the same cornflour custard. I paid $42 for 6 cakes and couldn't eat any of them. Don't waste your money.
Another great cake shop in St Kilda. Came here last week and found myself a lovely selection of sweet treats for the office. The mini lemon meringue pies were nice. Staff on the weekend were nice but a little flustered when it got busy. Prices are reasonable. Like the way they package up your takeaway. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Parking is seriously expensive and the inspectors are vigilant so watch your meter.
Had some ice coffees, lemon cheesecake and berry pie. Great cakes and coffee. Friendly staff. Priced as you would expect in St Kilda.
Raw vegan snickers was good! Nice lemon cheesecake. Didn’t like much Oreo torte too buttery for me. Will come back to try their macaroons
