About

Always the best care and advice for your Pet, without compromise

Story

Welcome to our Family! We'd like to take a moment to tell you a bit about us.

Here at EMPVS we pride ourselves on always providing the best quality care without compromise for all of our clients- both the human and fur variety and we are commited to your long term positive health outcomes.

We love to see our clients but operate by appointment only. While we think of you all as extended family we allocate consultations times carefully to ensure the safety and well being of all of our clients- believe it or not, not many dogs love cats and visa versa! If your pet has an emergency please call ahead of attending the clinic, this will allow us to give you vital first aid instructions and also prepare for your arrival.

We pride ourselves on providing the best quality care, we understand how important our pets are to our families and want to make sure that they stay happy and healthy for as long as possible. Just like people we know every animal is unique and are commited to working with owners to provide the best suited care for your pets needs. We pride ourselves on providing expert advice, backed by the best tools. equiptment and up to the minute training to ensure we always deliver the best care. Sometimes this means we need to make tough calls and advise a diagnosis, treatment or operation that might be necassary. Rest assured we have your best interests at heart and will be there with you at every step to ensure the best possible outcome.

Please note- we CANNOT provide a diagnosis over the phone and will always request you come see us so we can perform a proper examination and make an accurate assessment.

We are passionate about prevention, prevention is better (and cheaper!) than the cure. One of the easiest ways to stay in good health is to ensure basic prevention is always up to date, we're talking fleas, ticks, heartworm and intestinal worming, vaccinations and follow up appointments. Sure tablets and needles arn't much fun but neither is heartworm, tick paralysis or preventable disease. We will check and update your file at each appointment and help keep you up to date.
We do not sell most products over the counter (Popantel, our intestinal wormer is the exception) but will happily order them in for clients or direct you where best to buy. We understand that sometimes choosing a product can be tricky so we are always happy to advise about the latest and best products.

All payment is required in full at the end of each appointment. In exceptional circumstances we are happy to review this and work with clients. That said we think Pet Insurance is money well invested and worth looking into for your furry friend.

We offer the best value hydrobath in town- $8 every Saturday (by appointment only). This is a service we run as a reward for clients and is why we keep the price so low. It is a condition of booking that your our pets vaccination, heart and intestinal worming and flea control are all up to date, if you are not a regular clinet of the surgery we will need vet history from your current vet to reflect this. This is a safety protocol for your pets and others.

New clients to the practice will also need to bring with them any previous vet history, just like us little things from our past that might not seem important could make a BIG differance to treatment plans and/or diagnosis. Every detail in your pets history is important and as veterinary professionals we need all the pieces of the puzzle in order to provide the best care. This history also helps us keep vacciantions and worming up to date. We require this history BEFORE we can make any initial bookings for your pets so that we have time to review this information and learn about your pet before the first time we see them.
If obtaining a history from your previous vet is problematic then we must assume that vaccinations and preventative health are out of date and will start at what we call 'Time Zero' to get your pet up to date.

Would highly recommend Dr. Simon to any other cat owners. He was able to quickly diagnose our sick cat when other vets weren't. Always friendly and helpful.

This was the best vet experience I've ever had. I took my 13 week old pup to see Simon off a friend's recommendation. Simon was super professional, clearly loves working with animals and was very informative. Bella really enjoyed her time with him, stitches removed and all. I know his as we had to do a quick turn around as I'd forgotten something and she was delighted to see him again. I had been to a certain franchised vet in my neighbourhood which was unremarkable. This experience was personal and welcoming. (Bella was also super stoked for the laser thermometer, rather than reliving the rectal exam she'd had previously!)

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Williams to anyone. He is professional and calm. He knows exactly how to handle my dog Taro and Taro seems comfortable around him each time we visit. Dr Williams always takes time to listen, understand and explain any concern I have about Taro. Both Dr Williams and Christine make us feel welcome each time we visit and thank you very much for the treats. Taro loves it!

I recently moved to the area and was frantically looking for a reliable vet. I was so glad I listened to the others who had left great reviews as Dr. Simon was extremely calm, professional, and polite. Our Border Collie x Cattle dog, Jacky, is definitely a handful but Simon knew exactly how to handle him and Jacky seemed comfortable around him too. At no time was I pressured to buy any products but was instead provided with valuable information on what we should look out for with treatments. All the information he provided was backed up by academic readings and articles. Not only did Simon seem genuinely concerned about our puppy's health, he was helpful with training him to be obedient.
