This morning, my support worker Ben and I went for a walk along Eastern Beach to Lake Bunga plus Golf Links Road and Merrangbaur Street in Lakes Entrance. It was a mild partly cloudy day with moderate winds and breaks of sunshine.nnIn my experience, beach walks will always having varying degrees of difficulty. The fact that you're walking on sand adds resistance plus any hills and dunes you walk over increases that resistance. Luckily, this stretch of beach is mostly flat with a firm grit with some mild to moderate dunes.nnAt Lake Bunga, I noticed that the water level was pretty high but still reasonably easy to walk around the edge of. There's a walking track from the carpark which leads through some coastal vegetation then runs between the Lakes Entrance Golf Course and the Sewage Treatment Plant.nnFrom here, we walked along Golf Links Road into Merrangbaur Street then back to the Eastern Beach Playground carpark. It was a lovely walk and thankfully the weather seemed to improve over time.
The beach was fantastic and the salmon fishing was terrific. We went for a bit of fun and turned out to be a great day with my son catching some fish to eat.
Great place to come down for a casual walk with the family along the beach or follow one of the many tracks that surround the beach. There are plenty of places to have a BBQ or just sit on a blanket and have a snack.
Glorious sandy beach. Even during school holidays I was able to enjoy a peaceful walk without crowds of people.
Was a great spot to stop at while trying to escape from fires until the next wind change then everyone had to leave Lakes Entrance
