Hired a vehicle a few weeks back. Was very sceptical about the price of hire etc. I was soooooo wrong. Timely pick up from airport , 5 minute wait. Paperwork dealt with efficiently, car clean and ready to go. Same efficiency on return of vehicle. Will definitely be hiring from East Coast again. Great service and great value. Many thanks

Excellent value for money. Slightly inconvenient that you have to phone them to come and pick you up (make sure you have a working phone!) but service is prompt and they're there in a few minutes. Will definitely use them again.

- Superb value for money. We rented a basic Hyundai Accent for ~$30/day including insurance and the car despite 60k km was very well maintained - Great service, quick pickup at the airport - 5 min walking distance to the airport

The $1000 deposit is a scam to extort an extra $12-17 a day out of customers who can't front the cash/credit. For those who have private travel insurance, this is doesn't work well. I was told my bank was the only bank that would hold my $1000 for 28days, only to hear them tell another customer from a different bank the same thing. I was then lied to and told I could have a 1c charge made to my card to release the funds within 24-48hrs. Speaking to my bank several days later I was told all they had to do was submit a hold release and it would have been released. Don't lie to customers. If you want to charge exorbitant amounts in bond, at least release the funds for them when the car is returned in the same condition it was rented. The car's windscreen wipers were faulty and needed replacing. Considering the amount of rain we had to drive through at the time, this was very sloppy of East Coast Car Rentals. 1 star because I hate being lied to .
