The Dugandan Hotel or "The Dugie" as it is affectionately known is a classic Queensland Country Pub. We serve great pub meals, ice cold beer and award winning wines from Sirromet. Today my family of 5 arrived at the pub for lunch 8/10/25nMy wife and I ordered 2 big boy 600 g steaks with mushroom sauce and vegetable medium cooked.nThe meal came out and it looked great then I tried to cut it and it was impossible!!nAfter a few minutes I got one piece cut off. And I started chewing and chewing and chewing and chewing. It was tuff as old boots. $49 and it was a shocker, my mother got fish and chips, it looked like 3 pieces you would buy from Woolworths frozen. It too was terrible. My daughter ordered a burger and chips, the burger tasted strange to her also. I’m a local and I don’t know what’s going on but the service to the meals were shocking. I’m really disappointed, they have even changed the parmy menu, which is a shocker also because this pub once was famous for there greatnParmys . Very disappointing
Service has gone downhill. There is no care or standard but blunt rudeness when ordering. You’re hastily served and chugged along and the menu has had a recent price jump but doesn’t not match any standard of quality or healthy options. Kids meals were disappointing and the lady with the red hair was quite rude when we tried to order and abruptly shouted across the bar when our order option was not available, “no!!! We are still out of the pulled pork burgers’. Won’t be back, I think there are much better options in town that don’t have cigarette smell in the designated dining room.
We were really looking forward to our lunch at the Dugie. Love the idea of being able to take our little dog out for lunch. The dog menu is a great idea too!! Food was good and good “specials” on a few of the alcoholic drinks. Unfortunately though service by one particular young lady with all the bracelets on wasn’t wearing name badge diminishes any of the positives. Rude from the very first encounter with her at the bar which then moved on to when she “served” us when ordering the food. I hope she can take the feedback on and be more mindful of how she speaks and treats patrons who take the time to explore and support our country pubs
6 of us went to the Dugandan pub for lunch today which was really lovely. The staff were great, we all enjoyed our food, no complaints at all from any of us. I got the Bangers and Mash which I teally enjoyed and it had heaps of rich gravy on it too, which was really deliscious, we all really enjoyed our time there today, was a great spot to stop for a drink and some lunch. We all sat inside, but they have a really good outdoor area to sit and enjoy that countryside. Great little pub
Used to always stop here all the time and was shocked at the apalling rudeness and complete absence of people skills. When kindly asking about some drink options the lady with the short red hair was DISGUSTINGLY Rude. I then asked if it was possible to get my kids fish and chips not battered and she replied NO bluntly . To put the icing on the cake she was handling money drinking and eating behind the desk. Will be telling everyone possible NOT to go here and will be also calling food safety . The girl was also incredibly rude and talking down to a young male staff member.
