Story

The Australian Hotel in Boonah was established in 1888 and has a rich and colourful history.
One of the unique features of the Aussie is that it is haunted by more than one ghost. A young woman, middle aged man and cranky old publican are all part of the rich tapestry of supernatural goings on at Boonah's oldest pub.

An old Australian Pub experience. You shouldn't expect complete privacy or luxury. But this place has atmosphere and depth. Most significant is the staff: Izzy! This lady effortlessly handled the front bar, the drive through bottle shop and accommodation checkins simultaneously! Come immerse yourself in yesteryear in the competent hands of a true professional. Vale Izzy!!!
Booked a room at 6.45pm online through Trivago and received the confirmation email at 7.02pm. This email stated that if arriving after 6pm, you needed to contact the hotel. We tried to phone with no success. Got to the hotel at about 7.30pm, only to find it locked up tight, nobody on site. Had paid on booking. Had to continue travelling right into the middle of Brisbane to find accommodation for the night. NOT impressed.
Dropped in for a cool drink and to check out a classic old pub. Absolutely loved it. Amanda the manager and Ben the bartender were a delight. Do yourself a favour and check it out.
No remote so couldn't use the tv over the 3 nights we stayed , lovely clean old rooms, great staff
Disappointed to see the level this bar has gone to after it once being a destination for good food and even better service.nEmploying young people who opening use foul language and bravado behind the bar is appalling!! It's very basic training in hospitality that has seen the charm of this hotel rapidly go down hill.nManagement - do better.
