First time here in a while - still bustling and a must book to get a reservation. Everything still first class. Food is excellent especially the fresh hash- browns. I love they are not greasy. Free toast and jam still a nice touch. Eggs B a delight. A great experience
Amazing portion size! Best scramb eggs & hash brown. Service to start was ok, had not been before & did not really know what to do in terms of ordering etc but once we were seated the lady looking after our table was great : loved the free toast too, yummy jam!
Visited here on Saturday morning booked for 8.00am, upon entering the atmosphere was bustling as it was packed with patrons.nIt's been years since the last time I ate here but decor still the same yet still clean and inviting.nOrdered filtered coffee while choosing the Drexels Special which included choice of protein bacon, ham or sausage, hashbrown, eggs any style I chose scrambeled, and choice of waffle or pancakes I chose pancakes.nWe also got complimentary basket of toast which came with whipped butter and jam.nWe didn't wait very long for food to arrive; my plate was large and came with decent size hashbrown which was crispy on outside and potatoey on inside; i also had 4 x breakfast sausages which were hot and flavorful.nI was impressed with the scrambled eggs which were plentiful and creamy, not overcooked and seasoned well. The side of pancakes it came with were 2 large stacks, smothered in whipped butter, and unbelievably fluffy.nThe servers were attentive with topping up our coffees, and had no problem refilling our toast.nEveryone else loved their meals, and I became so satisfyingly full I had to give away one of my pancake stacks.nOverall, I had a great eating experience with no critiques, and the staff were all lovely and attentive, especially one male server who offered to take a family snap for us. Will look forward to my next visit.
Had a great breakfast at Drexel’s. The Eggs Benedict was excellent, and the hash browns were crispy.nnMy first flat white was too foamy, but the staff quickly made a new one.nnThe restaurant is spacious and comfortable.
I used to love going to Drexels for their American style breakfast, it was one of my go to spots in Christchurch for pancakes and waffles. Unfortunately, on my recent visit, the quality has noticeably declined.nnThe waffles were quite soggy rather than crisp, and the pancakes weren’t as light and fluffy as they used to be. It’s a bit disappointing, especially given how consistently good the food was in the past. The prices changes only made this whole experience feel worse as well.nnReally hoping this is just a temporary slip, as Drexels has always been a great local favourite. I’d love to see them return to their previous standard.nnI have attached a photo 2nd photo of the waffles that I had anyear ago as a comparison to the most recent one I had.
