I believe Dr Van Gend does what he knows is right rather than what is popular. Fully support him on many issues pertinent to our society and local Toowoomba community. Keep up the great work David.
Unprofessional and unqualified as a GP to comment and advise on most issues he is wildly outspoken about. A fundamentalist religious zealot with an extreme right wing agenda.
I'm truly saddened by the slanderous, defamatory comments made about this man. It's the usual way though, for those who disagree with his educated, evidence-based opinions, to attack the man, not the issue when they can't credibly refute his position on some matters. We truly have a first class medical system when we have access to a professional, caring GP like Dr. Van Gend. He organised my same day surgery at a local private hospital with favourable outcomes. We are grateful to have him as our family GP!
David is a polite, friendly, compassionate community doctor who always provides caring and effective medical advice when it is needed. He has even made out of hours visits to our home to attend to our young child when she was ill and declined to charge us anything. He is a credit to the medical profession. We are lucky to have him serving our community.
Very dangerous person who uses his position as a doctor to try to manipulate and coerce others into believing he knows what he's saying in regards to trans children, trans people in general, reproductive options, and even marriage…something completely outside of his position. Now, one can assume that him being a doctor he would know. But with van Gend he only cares about his beliefs, regardless of whether those beliefs would harm or help. Beware the doctor who cares more about what he believes than actual real science, medicine and data.
It appears that in today's world that actually having your own opinion and daring to not bow to popular media strongly influenced by the gay minority is a bad thing. This minority has an arsenal of weapons given to them by spin doctors in the media. Typical tactics include using words like "equality" to justify their agenda when its obviously not equal for all in the family unit. Anyone with a differing view cant be left alone. They must be instantly labelled "homophobic" or similar. The goal here from the spin doctors is to discredit anybody that differs from the projected view. Once you have been "labelled" it becomes a powerful medium to advise all to ignore your views. Funny enough, read the reviews here. You may notice that the majority have not actually rated the doctors medical skills and instead make comment on his views. Again plenty of "labelling" going on by people that I am guessing have never met him or used his service. As for gay marriage, I ask my straight friends and family promoting this media dominated view - have they actually tried it? having a gay experience. I have been very surprised how they say "NO" in a revolted way. I find this highly amusing considering how blindly they support the media view pumped into them. Also note that all the arguments to support gay marriage also apply directly to polygamy. If its good enough for 2, what not 3 or 6 people getting married? But the media backed by that minority does not even mention that view. Funny eh? So in summary, think for yourself people. Don't let minorities using the media tell you how to think. And if you are still for gay marriage - go have that gay relationship so you can speak from experience :
As a Doctor myself I find it difficult to find a GP I am satisfied with. At the hospital I work at David Van Gend was on the list of GP's who are competent/confident enough to see other medical practitioners we are a critical bunch. I booked in to see him and was not disappointed. Very thorough.
David is a highly respected community leader in Toowoomba and amongst his peers in the medical profession. He has selflessly dedicated himself to country medicine and has always been a very caring and understanding doctor for me and my family. Excellent bedside manner and excellent technical medical skills.
Doesn't listen to others opinions, only his and others who follow in his beliefs. His book has been banned from most libraries due to the content in the book. I work with a lot of children from same sex families who love the parents they have and are very thankful they have a loving home then being stuck in an orphanage or going from one foster home to the next. The book is based on HIS opinions alone.
David's book is an eye opener. Expressed my thoughts better than I had. It has given me a better arsenal in this deceitfully presented attack on family and insight into some proponent's agenda. The intolerance of the tolerance is palpable.
