Wife and I had a powered drive thru site. Staff were great and friendly. Amenities were clean and in good order. Water nice and hot. Hand basins had plugs. Showers had shower screens. Bbq facilities were clean. Wash machines $5 - at this point in time . Plenty of hanging space . Live Entertainment on Wed nights and a food van on Sunday nights . Good security ie key tag to enter and exit. Plenty of cabins, plenty of ensuite sites too. We were there for 12 nights.nVery close to the beach and esplanade and activities.
We recently stayed in a cabin here. While the park itself is being updated and there are many lovely new cabins, we were placed in an old dirty cabin with holes in the bathroom wall. The bathroom was at such a stage that I don’t believe it was still appropriate for guests to use and is in major need of a refurbishment as well as a deep clean. The floors were incredibly sticky and our feet were black from walking on them meaning the one bath mat provided over three nights was gross as well.nnThe location of the cabin within the park was nice, although almost impossible to park in at times when people with large vehicles were allowed to park along the road inside the park, rather than next to their caravan. But it was nice to sit watching the birds in the little creek and it was close to the offerings for kids. That being said the pool is ridiculously small and I would hate to be staying in the summer when it must be like taking a bath with all the other people staying.nnStaff weren’t very friendly and, while I was greeted when I arrived, the lady was distracted the entire time and asked another woman to ‘deal with this’ this being me checking in to my over $200 a night room that would be a dump when the phone rang.nnWould we stay again? Possibly but definitely wouldn’t choose to pay over $200 a night for a cabin in that state of repair.
My family stayed in a 1 standard bedroom for 2 nights. It was nice and cozy with your basic needs. The place had many things to do for the kids on the holidays with also a schedule of things to do around the park. It's family friendly and worth the time to stay here.
I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Hervey Bay Fraser St, Discovery Park. I booked 2 ensuites site in January 2026, requesting they be next to each other. On arrival on Tuesday 11th August, to find out our sites were not near each other. When I approached reception, they could see the request and were not sure what happened. No apology was given.nnDue to a dispute between other sites, our booking was rearranged, with no consultation with us. This left us in the middle of the dispute.nnWe received a text message to say tree lopping was being done on Wednesday, 7am the tree loppers started. This continued on Thursday and Friday morning starting around 7am. I understand this needs to be done but surely they can start a little later in the day.nnAn email was sent to the park questioning the way our stay was handled. I have not heard back yet.
We had a wonderful camping stay at Discovery Parks - Hervey Bay. The amenities were spotless and very well maintained, which always makes such a difference when camping. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — both in the office and around the grounds — and nothing was too much trouble.nnThe pool was sparkling clean and so inviting. It was reassuring to see staff checking the water several times a day, showing how much they care about guests’ comfort and safety. The camp kitchen was lovely and welcoming, making it easy to relax and enjoy meals.nnThe location is fantastic too — close to the beach and within easy reach of food and drink options. We would happily stay again!
