Impeccable course of food complimented with exceptional service. Dier Maker is next to Lucinda Wine Bar I visited earlier during the week. Every course of the meal is made with local produce. This alone is already quite a unique experience. We had wine pairing with the course. With every plate and wine pairing there is an explanation to them. It is a pleasure to hear the introduction. The lady was also passionate about what they put on the table. Dier Maker is in a bit pricey range so it may not be for everyone. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I don't regret this amazing experience.
Impeccable, faultless meal. Every course was amazing. Fantastic service. Visited on Friday and the food was amazingly fresh and flavourful, and the matching wines and sakes equally so. Would love to return if we get back to Hobart again - recommend.
Loved our dinner at Dier Makr. The tasting menu and beverage pairing was unexpected and kept us guessing. Delicious and delightful! The service and knowledge of the staff was second to none. We enjoyed sitting at the bar to have full view of the kitchen at work.
Great food and staff. Did the wine pairing which was very complimentary. Definitely on the more expensive side of similar degustations I have done. Everything was delicious but nothing blew my socks off.
Had dinner here on Christmas Eve, and we're still dreaming about the sublime meal. The staff were so friendly and took the time to chat with us even while busy. Each dish was so thoughtfully prepared - they weren't afraid to experiment, and really nailed it. Honestly, everything was delicious, but the squid tentacle broth and seaweed tart with abalone were standouts for me. Can't wait to be back!
You MUST go. I can not speak highly enough about Dier Makr. The service, food, environment were all amazing. A sensational experience that will be unique each time you go. The non-alcoholic beverage package is a must for non-drinkers or designated drivers as the drinks are largely hand made using advanced gastronomic techniques and highly skilled pallets.
What did we eat? No literally we have no idea. We were so pleased our good pal gifted us a gift voucher to dier makr and we were looking forward to it for months. Staff were friendly, great vibe and ambience. Yet honestly were let down with the whole experience. Out of all the dishes only 2 were great, the rest average and a couple downright disappointing. The cheese and peas first pic was the best. Definitely not worth $350 - save it and go elsewhere. Kind of felt more conceited than celebrating and showcasing local produce. Not sure if it was a bad night, similar faces with similar experiences in the dining room. At least we got to experience it and look forward to tasting more of Hobart's restaurants! PS if you're gonna serve Japanese inspired dishes like gyoza and chawanmushi you might want to do them justice, especially when you have japanese guests and get better gyozas in a shopping centre food court.
A delightful dining experience with attentive and knowledgeable staff. Showcasing local produce and fresh ingredients, one area for improvement we would’ve liked to see was some local Tasmanian wines added to the extensive wine list.
Amazing experience. Staff and chef very informative and knowledgeable without pretence or agenda. The food is all locally sourced and importantly extremely tasty. We did the wine pairing which was composed primarily of Italian wines, which were quite new to us but all very well matched for the courses. Would definitely go again the next time we are in Hobart. Booking essential. Didn’t take any photos, too busy enjoying the experience!
I was able to get a reservation on a recent trip to Hobart and I’m so glad I did! There were some dishes that were much better than the rest, but the non-alcoholic pairing was great and complimented the dishes well. Overall it was a very unique and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend trying it out if you get the chance.
