Inefficient booking system and some rude staff. I arrived 5 min late due to not finding parking in the city. Booking system rejected my ticket. Staff sitting their doing nothing no customers after me in the line she booked me for another day although its only a 5min document authentication process and I had all papers ready with me. All this is done with a rude attitude she didn't even look into the face. Not nice at all a customer service training refresher should be considered. (Some other staff members were awesome though).

Fantastic staff - helped me so much in a really difficult situation which I am sure they have faced so many times before. Did not make me feel like a number but did their best to help and did help.

After being denied boarding with 5 months left on my passport (oops...), the DFAT staff were extremely helpful in getting my new passport printed quickly. Unfortunately I observed that these guys seem to have to deal with abuse from customers on a regular basis.

ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE on the part of people manning the inquiry desk at the Perth (WA) office. I visited the inquiry booth in person last week and inquired if notary public services were being offered at DFAT. The lady behind the counter said "Yes we do" and booked me in for an appointment for today. Today, I got there on time, just to find out from the booth that handles document authorisations that they do not offer this service. I mentioned that "The inquiry booth mentioned that you do offer it". The person behind the counter says "Oh, may be they weren't aware". WHY WOULD YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR ORGANISATION OFFER AT THE INQUIRY DESK??? These people have no regard for people's valuable time!
