Story

DEXTER MEAT & BUNS is a no rules approach to American BBQ brought to you by Adam Goldblatt, Sam and Tom Peasnell. The new meatery will feature the best meat and treat it the right way. Chefs Tom (Pitt Cue Co, London) and Adam (Homeslice, London) pay homage to the low and slow traditions of American BBQ utilising smoking, chargrill techniques and pair this with flavours from Mexico, Asia, France and alike. The philosophy is a meat first approach, where a dish is formulated from the unique characteristics of the meat (or vegetable) for a truly unique meat experience. Think salted caramel ribs, hot meat donuts and pigs head buns.

Lost for words!!! Absolutely mouth watering food. The menu is neat and gives you a good balance of food choices. Friendly staff. Destination spot if you like amazing BBQ cuisine. Highly recommend the BBQ lamb ribs

It's moments like these you start looking for a 6th star on the rating system. It was our first visit and we had some uncertainty about which options to try, as the whole menu looked tasty. We narrowed it down to a few options and the waiter helped as he had good knowledge of their menu. This knowledge meant he was confident and enthusiastic in offering an opinion as to what was popular, providing a good option for a first visit. We settled on the Kentucky Fried Cauliflower, the Meat Donuts, the Apricot Pork Ribs and the Caramel Short Rib, and found it all amazing. There was a good level of attentiveness from the front of house through out the meal. We will definitely be heading back for more!

If I can give this restaurant 100 starts I would do. Best restaurant in the area. The food is extraordinary and the staff are very nice and friendly. Reasonable price as well 👍🏻 highly recommend

Another exceptional meal. Came here with a small group for dinner before my future brother wedding. The food was tops. Even for the pickiest eaters. One of the boys even said, that this is the place to bring him if he ever considered veganism. This is quite possibly the best meat in Melbourne. Not cheap, but super high quality. Ps. Make sure to get the meat donuts. It may seem weird. It may seem wrong... it'll be the best thing you've ever had.

Fabulous original Mexican style meats in buns and other unique tasty treats like meat donuts. Wash them down with adventurous craft beers or a pickle shot. All served by friendly staff. It's a popular place so book early!
