Poor Customer Service & Mark Up of Prices they Claim is On Sale! I made a purchase from Davo's Online and you can not get in contact with the store to rectify or adjust order. Instead a tele service that cannot answer any questions. They do not return messages and it has been over a week demonstrating complete lack of customer service by refusing to aid in any form of amendment. Be careful of any purchase as mark ups of products are clearly labelled as on sale and you will find cheaper at any other reputable tackle store.
Disaster! Online as Davo’s. I didn’t get my goods and took my money. Rip off!!! See you in consumer affairs!
I ordered online for a $200 rod and instead they mixed up my order with someone else who ordered a $80 rod. After return, instead of giving me the proper rod and processing the correct order, I was shunned by the rude customer service team because they didn't want to lose $120 for a fault they made. Instead, I lost $200 total and have nothing to show for it. They say it is a very 'rare' incident, but a lot of my mates had the exact same thing happen to them. I guarantee they were hoping to cheap me off and send a worse rod in hopes I wouldn't do anything about it. Very disappointing to see a rod I was looking forward to down the drain along with my money. Operated almost like a scam company.
I googled DAVOS TACKLE ONLINE and the ABN and street address match this place, so just giving everyone the heads up. I did try to call this bricks and mortar store, and they claimed they weren't affiliated, even though the ABR says otherwise. What a joke of a company this place is. I ordered this jacket in a size for my son, they shipped out a completely different size. Then you can't actually call anyone or talk to anyone at all, and have to email a clearly offshore team. Oh no sorry, you can call, but its just a messaging service, which does zero. So after 2 phone calls that went nowhere, and a few back and forth emails, this place wanted ME to pay for return shipping on an item THEY sent that was wrong. Umm no. Then they wanted me to give them the benefit of the doubt that once they received said item, they would either try and find me the correct size which is currently out of stock, convenient or provide me with a refund, and maybe refund the postage. Umm no. seriously the lack of customer service is atrocious, the fact i ordered only one thing and it was wrong. The fact that they didn't acknowledge their mistake or do anything to try and fix it. DO NOT order from this place. Luckily i was able to sell the item locally on marketplace but i should have just received the correct item in the first place and not have to have done that. I will be purchasing the correct item in store locally now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!
Very poor customer service *Doug* would rather kick a person out of the store rather than offering a helping hand to his customer. He is very critical basing his judgements off the looks of a person and will not hesitate to provide unnecessary prejudice to that individual. Rest of the staff do a terrific job in helping me out though, which is a real shame that Doug creates a bad image for this wonderful little business.
From a previous eBay transaction I’ve got some discount code from them, which apparently doesn’t work after multiple attempts of creating the order through several device, PC, phone. The staff insists on restarting browser, machine and what not, without checking for possible problems at their end. Pretty frustrating. Update: staff contacted me the next day informing the problem with the discount code has been fixed at their end, which appears to have affected several customers. I'm upgrading the rating to reflect their efforts. Pricing on Davo's store is generally very competitive.
Haven't fished for about a decade so my knowledge on what I needed was somewhat lacking, but the staff member who helped us was fantastic, friendly and personable. He steered us in the right direction and kept us within our budget, as we were only looking for entry level gear to get us through our holidays. Highly recommend shopping here if you're in need of some fishing gear
Terrible customer experience. I ordered a product online that was advertised as brand new, in box and unopened. When I received my, supposedly brand new reel, I was filled with excitement. Unfortunately this was short-lived and I had concerns the moment I noticed the manufacturer seal was broken. Upon opening the box, it had clearly already been opened as the contents were not in order. After inspecting the reel, it showed some scuff marks on the reel body. As cosmetic as these issues are, it still takes away the feeling that you have purchased something new, and my initial thoughts were that this was a returned product that had been re-sold as new. So I contacted their support team, who promptly replied advising that the box's are sometimes opened to add in packaging to prevent damage. They conveniently ignored the comment and photos identifying the damage. And there was no additional packaging present. They advised to check the function of the reel, which is when I noticed excessive play in the spool shaft and the handle. After learning that there were build quality issues as well as cosmetic issues, my disappointment increased. So I tried calling, left a VM asking for a call back, no response 4 days later. I Facebook chatted them, they saw the message, no response. So I emailed them again with the updated information, only to be told to return the item to Shimano for replacement, as this would be the quickest resolution. So I called Shimano, to find out their centre is 940KM away, and I would need to post the item with a 3 week turnaround. How this would be quicker than them replacing the item is strange, considering it only took 2 days to send it to me. Oh, and Shimano don't replace, they only repair, and they don't repair scuff marks, so this would not resolve the original concern. So after updating them with this, they told me to ship it back to them at my expense and they would make their own assessment. If no issues, I would also need to pay for return postage. It seemed they were conveniently ignoring the scuff marks on the reel that was confirmed with photo evidence. After showing them the ebay sales conditions advising they were responsible for payment of return shipping on faulty goods, they responded telling me that they weren't able to do this. I requested that they send me a replacement with a return courier slip, or at least provide courier details to have the item returned at their cost, as I was physically unable to get to a post office to complete and I would not be paying for return postage on a falsely represented item. They essentially point blank refused, and are now no longer responding to emails and have not returned my calls. So here I am with a faulty and damaged item that was sold as "brand new". Mistakes happen, and I wouldn't even begrudge them knowingly sending the reel in the hope that I didn't notice. But not providing support when I did is an absolutely abysmal level of customer service, and I would recommend everyone to go somewhere a little more reputable. Somewhere that won't ignore and avoid their responsibilities. Response: Hi Owner, That's nice that you try and differentiate yourself from the online store, but you know as well as I do that isn't the case, now is it. Don't you think its strange that I had to post my item back to the address that is your physical shop?? So you accept the returns to your shop, but now you're trying to tell me you know nothing about it?? Or how I called your shop, spoke to the manager and he knew who I was and specifically said that he was told by upper management not to talk to me. Why does your ebay store say that you are a local store that has been operating for 35 years.....before ebay was invented, and before the internet was invented You sir are a liar and should not be trusted. Anyone who is reading this should be warned that this organisation trades online and is making feeble attempts to isolate themselves from their responsibilities. Please see ebay message showing address!!!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!
