The only reason I'm giving this store one star is because there isn't an option to give it 0 with writing a review.

Upon entering your Dan Murphy store at Northlakes with my 17 year old sister accompanying me, I was refused entry by the service lady that goes by the name "Carmen". Before we even stepped two centimetres towards her to show her my identification she threw her hands up and told us to leave immediately. I tried to explain to her that my sister and I had no intentions on buying and I would like to browse the stores prices before entering other places, she had no interest in what we had to say and continued to tell us to leave and "get off the premises".

Upon leaving my sister and I noticed a sign on the door stating that if under the age of 18 you must have a responsible adult accompanying you which we abided to, I attempted to re-enter the store by myself leaving my sister outside (which I believe is very unsafe and considering it is in close proximity to a pub) Carmen then called me over to present my identification (which I was more than happy to) then walking to browse proving she then proceeded to call over another staff member to watch over me while I browsed your store. 

Never had this problem at any other BYS, or Dan Murphy before. I just had a quick look at some of your other reviews as well and I have seen that a few other people have had the same problem with this employee. I feel as though further action must be taken and Carmen should be spoken to or better yet Fired.

Pretty expensive for a Dan Murphy's. Good range though, and great staff. Very helpful and good selection of wines and boutique and craft beers.

Refused entry as an 18 year old when walking in with a 17 year old despite there sign at the front saying anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, in which case i was obliging to. Lady who refused me went by the name of Carmen (typical) and clearly needs to read up on her stores rules. Disappointing.

Knowledge staff who are friendly and helpful, and large shop carrying large variety from wine to ciders. Shop is well kept and organised well. Prices are competitive for the area too. Well worth a look.
