Do not recommend for young people especially with adhd and need things to do hands on. Really boring and basically on Valium just to sleep all day I left but when leaving they said I couldn’t have my medication that I brang in the day I came with I paid for it’s in my name and prescription to me Now I’m 2 days without my meds cause of them and have no money to get more from chemist. This place will make you worse than you actually are.
Absolutely disgraceful treatment of my sister. We submitted referrals and relevant documentation back in June/July, and waited until August when she was supposed to be going in. They push us off, one more week one more week until near middle of September and finally tell us that we have to wait until NOVEMBER to see someone there because they only do outpatient. Despite the urgency of the matter. Borderline malpractice in my opinion - if she dies because of her problems it is their fault for refusing to accept her despite us willing and able to pay with private. Disgusting. *Edit* Only now, 3 months after this review was written and posted is someone from Currumbin Clinic wanting to discuss anything. Not wasting any more time on your unprofessional practice.
Currumbin Clinic aren't the most up to date facility for mental health… I have been going around in circles with this hospital for 2 years now. I’ve never felt so neglected by Dr Gary Persley. I think the most I had done was a few medication changes, TMS treatment, and some group therapy.
If this clinic cared about the mental health of their patients, which is usually rather acute, they would not pop someone on a waiting list and say "we'll let you know in next couple of weeks if the Doctor can see you" and not bother calling back.
This facility is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff, from doctors, management, cleaning, culinary, allied health professionals, and especially the nurses, are brilliant. All staff were courteous, respectful and operated with a ‘patient first’ attitude and ethic. The meals were really good and the coffee shop is brilliant. My stay felt normalised and without stigmatisation. All concerns were listened to and acted upon. I always felt safe, and given adequate encouragement in the progression of my care-program. I highly recommend this facility to those in need of specialist mental health care.
Absolute cheapskates - put profit before patients. Don’t recommend if you actually need help.
I am an Army veteran and have been struggling mentally for 5 years. I would have not survived the trauma from my service if not for Currumbin Clinic. I have received inpatients and outpatients care for the whole 5 years since my discharge. Thankyou for taking such great care of me. All the staff are so caring and professional. I have also been treated by Dr Tim McDonald, for 5 years and he is so understanding and totally sincere and helpful. Thankyou Currumbin Clinic you are wonderfull. I am so lucky to have your help and support only a phone call away.
I wish I didn't have to leave even one star. The psychiatrist I saw was more interested in arguing with me than listening to what I had to say or acknowledging my personal situation. For $3-$400 per session some lasting less than 20 minutes you would think they would be trained in basic duty of care, but it appears they were not. I left sessions feeling like I was being viewed as Ms Money-Bags who wanted attention, and not someone who needed psychiatric care. I had hoped this was just an issue where patient and Dr don't see eye-to-eye but after reading the other reviews I can see this is untrue, and the issues are ingrained in the practice and those it hires. Very disappointing, and I cannot emphasise enough that if you feel you need help this is not the right place.

Currumbin Clinic is the best Mental Health Clinic I have experienced. The staff both medical and general are caring, knowledgeable and compassionate. The institution is responsive to feedback and the concerns of patients. It is high quality care. I have noticed that the Clinic has made continual improvements to the services and facilities available to patients over the past 2 years, as a response to feedback from community meetings and the Consumer Advocate. I was particularly captured by the day group sessions being offered, notably in Addictions but in some of Anxiety program also. The Clinic offers its clients growth opportunities across such a wide range of activities including external meeting, physical activity Tai Chi, Yoga etc, groups, arts and specialist expert lectures. In addition, my psychiatric care was of the highest standard, as has always been the case previously. I have not hesitation in recommending this Clinic. My last admission at the Clinic helped me grow through a very difficult period of my life, and I grateful for the support it provided, and will continue to provide in the future to my quest for well being.
