An absolute disgrace - just arrived in Auckland and already been ripped off in the taxi to the CBD. Thankfully I saw the $80 fixed fee sign at the airport before we left. Driver told me that we would be on the meter - I said nothing noting the fixed price to myself if it became an issue. He then goes on to tell me mid way to the city how expensive taxis are in Auckland. The meter wasn’t on display either. Messaged my wife who was in the taxi to say we are going to get ripped off here - true enough….. $117. Told him no way. He then explained that we have to pre book the $80 fare. Told him he could charge me $117 if I could take his picture and the car rego….. soon changed to $80. Totally shonky! Display name was Agnund or similar. I can’t imagine the stress for anyone arriving heee and not speaking English. Since learnt that an Uber is less than $50
I used their service rather than Uber because Uber was price surging. The cost ended up being $63 from CBD to Glendowie. The same trip with Uber is normally $25. Although I am not writing this review about the price. No receipt could be provided at the end of the trip which strikes me as very unusual. I wouldn't use them again and I doubt I will use any taxi service again other than Uber or an App based taxi service.
Took a short trip, driver charged $77NZD just because we were tourists. Same journey in an Uber cost $15NZD, gave him a tip for not trying to rip us off. Disappointed.
Only gave this company a 1 star a google wouldnt let me continue with 0. These guys are absolute thieves. $110 dollars from eden park to viaduct. Should not be allowed tocrum a taxi firm.
Do not use this company. We jumped in a taxi outside the hotel as it was raining. After we got in he refused to turn the meter on and said it was a flat $20 fare in the city - despite being a 5 minute drive to the ferry. He is a thief and his personal hygiene was deplorable.
Driver quoted us $30 to go from Western Springs to Parnell. Once we got to our destination he claims he quoted us $80. Complete scammer with no morals. Avoid at all costs.
DO NOT USE THIS TAXI COMPANY. ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE. I took a taxi this weekend home from the bar. Argued with the driver about the agreed fee on arrival and then was followed out of the taxi and inappropriately had a tongue in my mouth. I was in shock. You're gross. Please take an Uber so you have a record and a registered driver!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Was fed this ridiculous story about having to charge double after 9:00pm. I’m a woman in her 80’s, how could I argue? I will call the company in the morning for a refund and make a formal complaint.
Never again. Kinda don’t get the taxi model anymore. Uber trip was $6.30 on the way there it was raining hard. Was going to walk home and decided to jump in a rank taxi, was $13.60, same trip but in reverse. I’m all for supporting local businesses but not when it’s more than double the cost and the driver heads off in the wrong direction, I have to bring up maps, and then I get a “$5 PayWave charge” and I get charged for the driver not knowing where to go and having ko way of sorting that. That’s a huge nope from me.
Absolute rip off merchants. And strangely enough my debit card details compromised after using drivers eftpos machine. Lucky the bank was onto it. NEVER USE THESE GUYS
