Located in the heart of Morningside. All our profits are put back into the neighbourhood. We want to make the neighbourhood a better place to live.

Story

CRAVE COLLECTIVE
Crave café is owned by a collective. If you’re over 50, you’ll understand the hippie potential of this term. If not, it’s like this:
A few of us got together (over food and wine) and decided we wanted to be good neighbours and live in / help create a great neighbourhood.
We chipped in and started Crave Collective, a charitable organisation -that means that all of our profits go towards the community, and helping destroy poverty of any kind. No extra money goes back to us. What we do get is the better neighbourhood we all want to live in.
This seems like a good time to us.
One of the basic Cravings of humanity is to connect with each other. We think outstanding fairly traded coffee and engaging conversations in scintillating environs is a brilliant way to connect. And we’d like to thank you for supporting the local community and making this neighbourhood a better place to live, simply by living a little with us.

Crave Cafe has a really big and beautifully decorated space. The cafe is spread across two floors, offering lots of different seating options both inside and outside, so it’s easy to find a spot that suits your mood.nWhen you first walk in, the space might feel a little overwhelming because it’s quite large and has many different areas, but overall, it’s cozy and welcoming. The way they decorate the place is really nice and gives off a modern, stylish vibe that makes you want to stay longer.nAs for the coffee, in my personal opinion, it didn’t taste very good. The pastries were also a little dry and didn’t seem very fresh. Overall, the coffee and pastries were okay for a casual visit if you just want a place to relax, but they didn’t really stand out. For such a big and well-designed cafe, I had hoped the drinks and food would be better, so I felt a bit disappointed.nI also saw some online reviews where people gave one-star ratings, mostly complaining about the food and the service. While I didn’t have any major issues with the staff myself, I do think the service could be friendlier and more attentive. Sometimes a little warmth and extra care from the staff can make a big difference in how you enjoy the whole experience.nOverall, Crave Cafe is a nice place if you’re looking for a spacious and attractive spot to work, study, or hang out with friends. The atmosphere is definitely one of its strongest points. But if you’re someone who really cares about excellent coffee, tasty food, and top-notch service, this cafe might not fully meet your expectations yet. A lovely little breakfast spot with a cozy atmosphere! There are only two tables inside, which gives it a very charming and personal touch. The selection is surprisingly large, with plenty of delicious vegetarian options. The pastries are fantastic – we had avocado with eggs and the cheesecake, along with some tea. The whole meal cost only 40 NZD, and it was totally worth it. Highly recommended!

Crave Cafe never disappoints! The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked—creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Paired with the crispy sourdough toast and fresh microgreens, it was a simple yet elevated brunch dish. The touch of the side added a great burst of flavor.nnThe presentation was beautiful, and the food tasted just as good as it looked. Definitely a place worth revisiting for quality ingredients, thoughtful plating, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend for brunch lovers!
Good spacious cafe and bar with great cabinet selection. However, the product and display's name were inconsistent so we ordered the wrong thing we looked at the name. Ordered a mocha but it was so bitter, not my taste personally.nThe staff was friendly.
