We stayed over Christmas a few years in a row but have decided we wont be going back.nLocation is great and the amenities are good and well maintained, but that is where it ends.nSome of the designated spots are so small that it's impossible to manoeuvre a caravan into the spot without the aid of the tractor which they have now started charging for. And they charge to get you in and out.nThe final decider was when they told us we can only book to check in and out Saturdays. Want to check in Christmas Eve? Nope not if it's not Saturday, this year we would have to book from the 20th if we want to stay over Christmas.nAnd everyone checking in the same day is a nightmare.nWe had a chance to ask for a better spot when another group said they wouldn't be here the next year. The staff said we'd have to contact them later, which we did and were told it wasn't available anymore.nThe spot is good, the amenities fine but they are charging the earth and then expecting you to arrange your trip around their convenience
Very frustrating to book a site a year in advance then on arrival moved to a different site where my water hose connection was well out of reach. There was no apology nothing, similar occurrences have happened to other caravaners in our group, needless to say as much as we love Coolum we will not be staying there again.
we have stayed at this park a few times over the years and never had any problems. but just had 3 nights out of our 4 nights booked there and was very disappointed. the first 2 nights were fine then the 3 morning people came and set up on a few sites around ours. they had multiple gazebos and tents and that afternoon we count around 50 people out the front of our van drinking and having a party. then the following morning it started again but this time they also took over the public bbq area which was unfortunately also on top of our site and as the day went on there were more and more people coming in and drinking. walking through our site. we had to go out both days as otherwise we had to sit in our van with our dog as it was on top of us. so we decided to leave one day earlier as we could see no other option. i am upset that the management would one allow this and two with the amount of people if they were allowing it least put them all in one section together so the rest of the people staying at the park paying $75 a night could enjoy their holiday too.
Great location to shops and Coolum Beach.nLove the dog friendly beach area within the park and so close to the beach.nBeautiful long sandy beach.
I still love this place after 27 years, did a campervan trip in March/April this year and I am headed back Aug/Sept this year again. To be on the beach basically and have their own access to it, is like a dream. To be steps from local shops and cafes along the esplanade is so convenient and the Bowls Club is great to have a meal their Chicken Schnitzels are soooo worth it especially when you add mushroom sauce to it yummy yum. Coffee Club has the most delicious and mouthwatering Omelette, I'm salivating just thinking about it haha
