I love doing my grocery shopping at Coles at West End.nThey even welcome my 2 large male dogs who really enjoy the air conditioning on hot summer days.nThe staff are great at turning a blind eye to excited canines which I must admit do occasionally mark their territory in the dried pasta aisle.nnVisiting Coles at West End means my pet dogs no, they're not assistance animals can run free and play with other dogs in a grocery store selling food for human consumption and Health Department laws never apply as they do with Woolworths, Aldi or IGA.nnSometimes when I'm short on funds I walk out with free groceries without so much as a cursory glance from staff.nnI guess they're all dog lovers too!
Everything feels sparkling clean, modern, and well-organised, making for a pleasant and efficient shopping experience that stands out from older supermarkets in the area.nThe layout is intuitive. I've found the fresh produce section to be well-stocked and of high quality. The staff I've encountered have been friendly and attentive, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere.nThe provision of underground, 2-hour free parking is a big bonus for an inner-city area. The parking area itself is bright, secure, and clearly signposted, with easy access directly to the supermarket.
No staff at check out on peak hour so had to spend 15 mins+ at self checkout overfilling the baggage scale. Salad was all rotten, fruit was ok, vegetables was ok.nNo iced tea or juices? Harris farm and woolies is far out of this world ahead of this coles.nnShould honestly be shut down as it’s in such an abandoned state.
The lady with red hair, named Solar, was very disrespectful towards me and my partner towards the end of our visit. I also noticed her rude and racist tone towards a dark-skinned, middle-aged African lady next to our register. I understand it was around 6pm and the store was closing, but that’s no excuse for such unprofessional behaviour. Staff should always treat customers with respect and kindness, regardless of the time or situation.
Coles click and collect are extremely slow I come here all the time for doordash and every time I have waited between 20-40 minutes if not longer and never received a quick order. No other Cole’s or Woolworths I have gone to struggles as much as west end.
