I’ve been coming to Coles New Farm for years, and it’s always been a great spot to grab groceries. Back in the day—before extended Sunday trading—it was the place to go, being one of the last supermarkets open until 7pm. Hard to believe that wasn’t all that long ago!nnThe store itself is well laid out, though it can get a bit hectic in the afternoons. It’s usually well-stocked, and the fruit and veggies are pretty decent for a chain supermarket. If you can’t find what you’re after, the independent fruit shop outside has a fantastic selection—well worth a look.nnNow, for a fun fact: My gay son, Caleb, once told me that walking around a supermarket with a bunch of bananas turned up is supposedly a sign that you’re looking for love. Urban myth? Maybe. But hey, you never know who you might bump into at Coles—whether it’s fate in the fresh produce aisle or an accidental meet over the last tub of Ben & Jerry’s! Haha!
Staff were rude and not at all customer friendly. Deli person - when I requested certain pieces of meat, disregarded my request and said he couldn't give me what I wanted even though it was clearly in front and accessible to him. Check out person - When I put my items on the belt, I interrupted a conversation with a fellow work colleague and she made me feel like I was intruding and just a hassle cause she had to divert her attention away.nWould not go here again even though it's more of a convenient location to me
The only Supermarket in the area! A very large spacious & well stocked store! Friendly & helpful staff! Conveniently positioned located on Merthyr Rd right near a fruit & vegetables store! Three very popular and always busy cafes! A fabulous book store that sells quirky books!
Order a hot chicken online using the coles app. Picked and paid for chicken was not delivered. Rang the store to find out the chicken was not given to door dash driver. They said they would organise another driver. After a second call to the store and was told again it will be delivered the chicken has still not shown up after 3 hours. Not great
Their delivery service is appalling. Despite clear instructions of where to leave the groceries they never deliver them where the instructions say, they leave them in areas exposed to the elements not even close to where I live. Either the delivery people are illiterate or don’t even bother to read the message of where to leave them. I’ve made countless calls to Coles asking them to rectify it, but there has been no change at all to this ongoing problem.
