The City Doctors have always been bad but have recently graduated to outright awful. Mandatory faxing of prescriptions for profit felt iffy enough, the rude reception staff has always been annoying, lack of consistent care and so on. But just this morning they one upped themselves by randomly text canceling my partners appointment that he had been waiting a month for. If they had bothered to check their records they would have known that the appointment was a mandatory appointment so he can get his blood pressure medication, you know the stuff you have to take daily, but they didn't and now what? He has to go in and fight to get a faxed prescription, that he will pay for but may not arrive at the pharmacy on time assuming they will try to rectify the issue, as he has experienced repeatedly in the past. Edit: Day 2 without medication. Claimed they were faxing prescription same day or at the latest by 9:30am next day. Was told if this had not occurred to contact City Doctors again, we did and apparently they're going to call us back. This isn't medication any doctor would recommend skipping, but apparently signing and faxing a prescription that is desperately needed isn't a priority. No-one should have to fight this hard to get necessary medication, particularly when the issue starts with the health provider. If this is what you call patient care I'm not sure what you'd call neglect. Edit 3: After numerous phone calls and talking to two nurses the prescription has finally been done and received by the pharmacy. The two nurses were very nice and I think it's important to note that there are helpful staff who should be recognized for doing their best in the general clusterf~{k that is the City Doctors.
Was my first time visit at the City Doctors. I had gone to Palmerston North emergency as I had a toothache. The receptionist fill out a form for me to go to the City Doctors when I got there the reception lady was lovely and it was so clean and the service was pleasant I had to wait for a hour to see a doctor but was worth it. The hospital emergency was so full glad I didn't have to wait at the hospital with all the people waiting to see a doctor it would of taken me at least 2 to 3 hours wait. Happy to rate City Doctors 5 stars
Terrible Doctors, would probably be the worst in the country. Waited 5 hours for someone to see me and then the Doctor was rude and had a attitude problem with me. After I voiced my other concerns at the time. Would post Negative stars if I could. Even worse appointments are 2 months in advanced. The Bloody Hospital is better than this. If you have a GP here good luck ever seeing them again. Stay away from Kathleen Brown
Never rate health places low because I know it is a busy, hard, fast paced job but I need you guys to look into how your staff works. Brought my sick toddler in few weeks ago. Burning fever and she occasionally said her tummy hurt. No flu like symptoms. After waiting outside in the car for so long, we were rushed into cubicles at 7.30pm. A nurse saw us. She immediately said it was covid. I said I did RATs and they were negative. She insistedshe was sure it was covid. She only pressed my kid's tummy. She didn't even look in her mouth or ears. Which has been basic practice since my kid has seen a doctor from baby. She acted like she was scared to get too close! Even her interaction with her was appalling. Nurses are often great with kids. Not this one. She just sent us home. Didn't even ask if we had pamol! My kid battled a fever for 4 days until we went to The Palms and the NURSE looked in her EARS and MOUTH and saw she had a bacteria infection! The service there was miles apart from City Doctors. So disappointed. The service from reception to the nurse was appalling that day. You will probably not do anything as people will always get sick and knock on your doors. Do better.
Dr A Kumar was professional and kind. I am from overseas and had eye irritation for 2 weeks. He assessed me thoroughly and found the cause of my symptoms. I was worried about attending urgent care because my symptoms are not urgent. Nevertheless, the receptionists and doctor I have saw today made me feel that was a worthwhile visit.
I am a patient here. Most of my interactions with the nurses are great and dr Silva an dr Wen are great. Not sure about the others. However I had a phone consult the other day and the on call Dr was so insensitive and rude to me about my concern. Was really disappointed in her attitude and obvious expression to making it obvious she had no time to actually listen to me. Only giving 3 star for those who work there who make me feel heard and cared for.
i went to urgent care this morning having never been before. i was listened to by the receptionist, nurse and doctor and given the proper diagnosis and medication after being misdiagnosed twice by my usual doctors clinic. i am very grateful that they were open and able to help. the wait time was only an hour but i’d happily do it again to get the results i did. thanks guys!
I'm sad to see so many people not understanding that City Docs will be stressed and inundated due to Covid. There's always been a wait time and it's got longer since our city has grown by about 20,000 in the last 10 years so of course will be much worse now and yes, they did have a sign three weeks ago saying they were full and could not take anymore patients. That is for patient safety as well as them needing rest. They also have day practices to run. Yes - the older woman on reception really shouldn't be there - she's horrifically rude and dismissive, but I've only ever had one nurse be a bit off and when she understood I wasn't trying to be difficult she calmed down. The rest of the time, we've received excellent care here from both doctors and nurses and the male receptionist is lovely. Our care was hit and miss sometimes excellent and sometimes just awful with equally rude receptionists at the other after hours in town so we figured consistency of care was the wiser choice. City Doctors have never let us down in that regard. They listen, they're caring and at present, horrifically stressed and overworked. It's a pandemic; we need to be, well, patient. NOTE: Had to rush son there tonight. Nurses and doctors were fabulous. Told there would be a four hour wait but that they could pop away to eat dinner and come back. Triaged very fast so they could go and they wandered over to hubby's work. They then were called via phone to come back cos it would be their turn soon and they saw a doctor who was just absolutely fabulous and appreciated the history I wrote up to take in as it helped. They were kind, courteous, considerate. I'm starting to think that people leaving bad reviews were just not getting unreasonable demands met because they're only human. It certainly let me know we'll continue to put faith in them. And, they're home much earlier than expected - though I know that's not always possible. GO CITY DOCTORS!!!!
Triage nurse and Drs at City Doctors have been great to deal with after breaking my ankle. Follow up call from Doctor the next day after giving referral to hospital. The nurses have been helpful with a smile on their face. Clear communication.
Was really sick with suspected covid for weeks although tests were showing up negative. The doctor I spoke to on the phone appointment was very rude and offered me no help I couldn't have got from a blind dog on the street. Was already feeling rather depressed from lack of sleep, pain and feeling terrible associated with being ill and this woman's unprofessional manner did not help. Complete waste of money
