Can I give 0 stars? As a tip don't expect them to call back or follow up on anything. I called at least 8 times to check the status of my claim and was repeatedly told I would see progress and be notified about it. No progress was ever made and it felt like I had to hassel them to get them to do anything. I was completely left in the dark.

If you are with this insurance company, do yourself a favour and change now! If you are considering changing to CGU, save your time and spend your money elsewhere. The most incompetent insurance company I have ever come across. Was involved in an incident that was not my responsibility yet had a dispute in liability from the other driver. CGU were kind enough to ring up the other driver and tell him that he was at fault which resulted in me getting an abusive phone call. They then proceeded to say that seeing as there was no proof that I was not at fault, full excess would apply. Customer service representatives continually were saying that I had nothing to worry about and because of the nature of the accident and location that it wasn't my fault yet I'm still without my car some 2 months later. We are waiting on CCTV footage to be released to hopefully prove my innocence. One would imagine that a customer of 13 years who has never made a claim would be treated with some sort of respect but I continue to be treated with absolute distain. It's a pity that I can't give a negative rating.
