Built my PC at the end of 2023 and had deeply researched price parts across Victoria, settling on three different retailers plus 1 Amazon purchase. In the end I ended up sourcing pretty much all the parts from Centrecom as upon review of my list they committed to matching, and in many cases beating, the others prices.nLast week when I wanted to upgrade two of my monitors, I found that Centrecom had a quite frankly absurd price, so unrealistic that I called the Bundoora store to confirm it and to check that they had stock as I couldn’t see their availability online. They did.nWhen I went down they were also able to knock a few more bucks off the already ridiculous price as I was buying two monitors and in the end I walked away with 2x 32” QHD 165Hz HDR10 Free sync monitors for less than $395!nAbsolute legends!
I visited Centrecom Bundoora on 6 January regarding a laptop issue. I explained to the staff member, Zac, that several screws were missing from the corner of my laptop, causing the hinge to flex and the power button to be pressed when opening and closing the screen. I also mentioned that this is a known issue with this particular laptop model, which I had already researched, where screws can loosen or go missing over time.nnI specifically asked whether I could simply purchase replacement screws, as it appeared to be a straightforward fix. I also expressed that it did not seem reasonable to be paying for a fault that appears to be a known issue with the laptop after only a few years of use. I was told that no screws were available and that the laptop would need a paid assessment. I was advised that the hinge is likely separated from the chassis and that repairs could involve parts and labour and potentially not be worth doing, with it suggested that replacing the laptop might be the better option.nnWhen I collected the laptop the following day, replacement screws had been installed and the issue was resolved, despite being told the previous afternoon that no screws were available. No hinge separation repair was required. This is exactly what I initially suggested and asked to do myself. I was charged $95 for an assessment that ultimately consisted of installing a few screws.nnWhen I queried the cost, additional comments were made about cleaning out dust, which had not been discussed beforehand and appeared to be raised only to justify the assessment fee.nnI am disappointed with the lack of transparency and the outcome. The problem was represented as potentially complex and costly, yet resolved with a simple fix after I was told parts were unavailable. I do not feel the fee charged reflected the work performed.
The boys at Centercom where so helpful Peter and Riley were very friendly they made my life easier and just was such a smooth process I was so overwhelmed and stressed but there service was incredible. They were honest about the service and how they could help
Damian was very rude, unhelpful and his attitude was terrible. Wouldn’t listen to what I was after, and after several attempts at me telling him I needed particular features, he kept dismissing me telling me “it will work”, treating me like an idiot that was wasting his time. Answered all questions I had regarding a refund if incorrect product like a politician - beat around the bush and didn’t actually answer my queries. Nearly failed to give me a receipt, I had to directly ask him for one, and then he questioned why I needed it, to which I said to return it when it isn’t what I needed. We’ll surprise, like I said - it didn’t work, because it didn’t have the required feature. Will be returning for full refund, and will be shopping elsewhere. Not impressed with this service at all. Avoid!
Great service. Very friendly staff, was looking for gaming laptop. Got a very good recommendation for Asus Tuf A15 Ryzen 9 4900h RTX 2060.
