Excellent location. Easy access to town. The cabin was spacious and the wood beams were beautiful. It would have been cramped with the 3 people it could accommodate. The shower dripped incessantly. When we went to use the extra plates, the ones underneath were too filthy to use. We washed them, but I still wouldn't use them. Having worked in this industry, I was very disappointed at how unclean it was. Old I understand, but dirty?
Our experience at this place was very negative. While my partner was trying to use the restroom in the common areas, the maintenance man aggressively confronted him, shouting and banging on the wall, even threatening physical violence. He was totally drunk, during work. The situation felt so unsafe that we had to leave.nA hotel should provide a safe and respectful environment for its guests, but unfortunately, this was not the case here.
The only redeeming features of this Caravan Park was the pleasant lady who booked us in and how central it was and the price. The sheets and towels were the only two clean things in our room, we had one plate between two people, not sure the floor has ever been cleaned and there was a nasty brown stain on the quilt cover. Never again.....
This park is old and a bit tired but the cabin was clean and neat. Felt quite quaint as the cabin had wood lined, sloped ceilings like an old-style country cabin. Sufficient cooking facilities for simple meal. Bed comfortable. Loved having a washing machine in the cabin, with a drying rack, iron and board.
Central to everything you would want to visit in Mackay.nQuiet park. Grass sites.nAmazing amenities. The largest toilet/shower block of any caravan park we have stayed at - 18 toilets, 18 showers in both the male and female areas. No queueing. So clean.nLarge communal dining area with bbqs and a huge TV.nWe booked here for 3 nights then extended our stay for 6 more nights.nWe will definitely stay here again when in Mackay.
