Very dated furnishings and fittings. We were given a unit right in front of the reception and the ground floor bedroom and the bathroom windows open up to facing another motel behind. Absolutely no privacy , noisy with people , coaches with tourists coming in and out. We have to keep our window closed all the time because people walking pass or coaches driving pass or parking there can look straight in the room and the bathroom ! Reached the motel at 1.35 pm and was told by reception we cannot check in yet because we are too early. Their official check in time is 2 pm , I mean what the hell , they are not flexible at all ! I have never encountered such problem with our check in with other accommodations , the rest are so flexible and understanding that the guest are tired and need a place to rest . The beds are so uncomfortable , they all sink in the middle or the side the moment you laid down, making it difficult to sleep Overall we didn't enjoyed our stay and would definitely not recommend to anyone

Our first stay in New Zealand. Huge space and well equipped kitchen. There is a small pool, but we just pass it due to serious jet lag from the first day of the trip. There’s a liquor store on the opposite side, and a small food stall to sell very delicious grilled lamb.

Checked in here following a 20hr stint nonstop from Auckland . Check-in was disgusting, as work had booked for me was under bosses name with very clear indication on booking print out it was for myself. Was told, and i quote “there will be no charge backs or anything like that” with a non humour filled female. Hot water ran out after 2-3 minutes. Called reception , she invited herself in the room to check the hot water cylinder was turned on . It was. Told me to call back in few hours if it hadnt sorted itself (i was ready for sleep within the first 5 minutes given the lengthly journey.... had to check out at 1am to make it to picton ferry , whopps my colleague left our UE speaker in the room and we left the key in there also as we were leaving . THIS IS WHERE THINGS GOT RIDICULOUS!!!! Called reception which was answered with a “hello” from the asian owner/ manager , i explained the situation and he replied saying there was only 1 key to the room and there was nothing he could do to let us back in.... i replied saying that didnt make sense and after pleading with him he asked me to go to reception . Asked for ID which was different to the person who made the booking(my boss) and told we must be trying to steal stuff and hes not going to let us in... i ended up having to phone 111 for police assistance as he became extremely agitated and insulting us using assumptions we were robbers ( at 1am in the morning , clearly explaining what we needed to retrieve and where???) basically the worse hospitality i have ever experienced in my 30years on this planet . I advise strongly against staying here . It was absolutely horrible. Thankfully police ensured we got our stuff and we made our ferry on time. Never ever again !!!!!

Definitely not a 4 star, more like 1.5 at best. Poor maintenance, hasn't been upgraded in a loooong time. AC unit installed only on lower floor, bedrooms upstairs a furnace, finally slept on the floor downstairs. Disappointing...

On arrival receptionist was rude and assumed things about us on arrival saying he hoped we would be well behaved and not cause any damage! Our tv in room also had no reception when enquired he said did we know how to turn it on like we were incapable After coming back from dinner still was not fixed asked again to find out that the tvs back connections werent attached properly so my husband had to adjust all night. Not even a sorry! Great location and rooms actually lovely too had about service!
