Brookside Shopping Centre

About

Brookside | Your way to better shopping.

Story

Brookside Shopping Centre is a regional shopping centre, located less than ten kilometres north-west of the Brisbane CBD.

Built in 1971 and having undergone two stages of redevelopment since then, Brookside currently stands at 50,433sqm lettable area, with Target (opening late 2017) Big W, Woolworths and Coles Supermarket and 120 Specialty Retailers.

The abundance of undercover parking with convenient access is a strength and point of difference from all other competition, as well as the easy one level shopping. The taxi rank, bus stop and train station are all conveniently located on the Centre’s doorstep.

Customer facilities at Brookside include the Customer Service Desk providing information on the Centre, the stores and local area.

Free wheelchair, stroller and electric scooter usage is available from the Desk, as well as the lost property department. Two fully-equipped parents rooms are available throughout the Centre, together with parents, disabled and motorbike parking.

Once in the shopping centre it's fine. Nice. But if you're in e.g. the underground car park, there are no signs to where the shops even are. My husband said he drove around and around trying to find the exit as it wasn't signed. The place needs lots more signage to be friendly to new visitors.
Brookside Shopping Centre, located at 159 Osborne Road, Mitchelton, opened its doors in 1971 & has since had several major makeovers over many years.nBrookside Shopping Centre is a suburb regional shopping centre, located less than ten kilometres north-west of the Brisbane CBD.nnThere are businesses such as Woolworths & Aldo's Barbershop, that have been there for the entire time that Brookside Shopping Centre first opened for trade.nnThis shopping precinct has been a lifeline to so many people during that time.nnAt one stage, the largest retailer, Myer, was a good meeting point for everyone, but due to changing times, such as online shopping, it was forced to close its doors. Undercover parking, both major supermarkets under one roof, plus a good selection of stores from BigW and Target to clothing, footwear and health stores. My regular shopping destination. Love the free book swap below the escalators.
Big W will not refund on faulty goods. I was spoken to very rudely by the woman at the service department, whom claimed to be the manager, then when I spoke back at her in a staunch manner, not abusive, she claimed I was abusive towards her. These people seem to think that they can speak and treat customers and not have the customer react in a firm, not abusive manner. I intend to talk to the ombudsman whom handles issues like this.
Oh no! First, Coffee Club closed down, went there today and Gloria Jeans has closed down. Centre Management, what’s happening? Two well run and busy food establishments closing down with in months of each other? Remaining Coffee Shops in your centre aren’t that enticing to want to spend money at.
